7 Indie Romance Bets Bets for November 2017

November is here, and the wonderful chaos of the holidays is bearing down on us with the promise of busy times ahead. Fortunately, there are some great indie romances out this month, and you’ll definitely have something to read if you need to escape. Of course, we never need a reason to read, but I’m not above exploiting an opportunity to excuse myself and curl up with a good book.

Follow by Tessa Bailey

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

He wants her soul. Too bad she already sold it.
Family is everything to gambling den darling, Teresa Valentini. Blood comes first, especially before men. So when her brother lands himself in hot water, she’s willing to do whatever it takes to save him. And showing up topless in her unwitting savior’s motel room is turning out to be the furthest thing from a hardship…
Will Caruso is the bad boy of New York’s financial scene…and he just found out the very thing that drives his success is a damn lie. Now, he’s exchanged his high-stress life for the open road, no one but his Great Dane…and half a million Instagram followers to keep him company. When a mysterious beauty arrives, her secrecy prods his suspicions, even while she tempts his lust to the breaking point.

Teresa met Will under false pretenses, but the bond consuming them is real. They’re strong enough to overcome a little betrayal…aren’t they?

Why you should read it: Follow is one of the sexiest and most captivating books I’ve read in 2017, and you do not want to miss this steamy and vibrant read. Teresa is a resourceful, feisty and loving sister, who will do almost anything to protect her brother–including seducing a stranger–but she never expects to fall for the enigmatic Will and his unforgettable dog Bailey. She and Will are compelling and well-matched with smoking hot chemistry, and Tessa Bailey deftly develops their emotional connection in tandem with their physical relationship, making their love story feel raw and real. Follow is heartfelt, exciting, and deliciously naughty.

Alpha Mail by Brenda Rothert

Sienna Mills knows her alpha males.
They brood.
They growl.
They love the word ‘mine’.
After spending her early twenties in and out of relationships with alphas, Sienna used her knowledge to found Alpha Mail, a booming business that allows women to sign up for emails, letters and texts from their own brooding, red-blooded man.
Her star is on the rise and Sienna is attracting the interest of investors when a mysterious man starts messaging her about the true nature of an alpha. She’s got it all wrong, he says, and he’s willing to show her how a real man makes women respond.
The more Sienna hears from him, the more aggravated she becomes. Who does this anonymous, supposed alpha think he is, anyway?
And yet…she can’t deny his messages are becoming the best part of her days. Commitment-phobic Sienna finds herself wanting more from her sensei of seduction. But is she willing to trust her heart to an alpha again?

Why you should read it: Alpha Mail is unique, adorably sexy and highly entertaining. You’ll love Sienna for her confidence, business savvy, and caring nature, and you’ll smile when she finds herself gobsmacked by her anonymous suitor. The two are able to develop a strong emotional connection through their exchanges that makes the mounting sexual tension even headier, and you’ll be on the edge of your seat waiting to discover the identity of the man who is slowly stealing her heart. Alpha Mail is clever, fun and splendidly romantic.

The Fortunate Ones by R.S. Grey

The Fortunate Ones by R.S. Grey

At Twin Oaks Country Club, there are the fortunate ones, and then there are the rest of us: the waiters, the caddies, the valets, and in my case, the cabana girls. Most days, I’m poolside in a pleated skirt, dishing out margaritas to tycoons and titans. It’s not exactly my dream job, but it does come with one perk…James Ashwood.

He’s my silver lining in a custom black suit.

Besides being a legacy member at the club, he’s a tech mogul and Austin’s most eligible bachelor. Oh, and those dimples? Yeah, they make my stomach dip too.
On good days, I catch his sleek Porsche winding down the tree-lined drive. On better days, I steal a glimpse of his handsome profile as we pass in the hall. And on the absolute best day, I find him alone at the bar, looking for company.

“Come have a seat.”

Those four little words set me down a path I never could have imagined. Private planes, penthouse suites, and temptations around every corner make it impossible to keep my distance. His world feels decadent and wild—but overindulgence comes with a cost. Every kiss comes with strings. Every erotic encounter is a promise I’m not ready to keep.

When I pump the brakes, he hits the gas. James doesn’t want to go slow—he wants a commitment.

And the thing about the fortunate ones?
They’re used to getting what they want.

Why you should read it: R.S. Grey’s sharp, dry wit is infused into The Fortunate Ones, and it’s hilarious, heartfelt and sensual. You’ll be enchanted and in stitches by the sassy Brooke, and you’ll fall in love with the elusive, powerful and downright swoon-worthy James. He’s mesmerizing when he patiently pursues Brooke, and their love story is a mix of raw emotion, lighthearted moments and fan-yourself-worthy tension that evolves at the perfect pace. The Fortunate Ones is engaging, laugh-out-loud funny and downright sexy, and you’ll feel absolutely everything while reading this gem of a romance.

Your One True Love by Layla Hagen

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

She’s the one who got away.

This time, he refuses to let her slip through his fingers.

Daniel Bennett has no regrets, except one: letting go of the woman he loved years ago. He wouldn’t admit it out loud, but he’s been pining for Caroline ever since. But his meddling family can read him like an open book. So when his sisters kick up their matchmaking shenangians, Daniel decides to play right along. After all, he built his booming adventure business by making the most out of every opportunity. And he has no intention of missing out on opportunity to be near Caroline.

Determined to keep her heart in check, Caroline Dunne knows better than to fall for Daniel’s charms again—even though the man is a walking temptation. Everything from his sexy smile to his charming banter makes her toes curl and her heart throb. Even with their lives going in separate directions, neither can ignore the magnetic pull between them, or deny their connection. But will they find the second chance they've both wanted all along?

Why you should read it: Layla Hagen continues her endearing family-centric series, The Bennett Family, with Your One True Love, and she’s written a bittersweet and moving second-chance romance. Daniel and Caroline fell head over heels during college, but youth and career aspirations tore them apart. They’ve stayed close to each other’s families afterward, keeping them in each other's lives, but Daniel wants Caroline back. He woos her and he’s hard to resist, but they have a painful history that they must confront and are different people after their years apart, especially Caroline. Your One True Love is a heart-tugging love story that will make you believe in the power of second chances.

Miss Fix-It by Emma Hart

Miss Fix-It by Emma Hart

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

One handywoman.
One single dad.
One set of twins.
And the wall isn’t the only thing being drilled…

I learned the hard way that being a handywoman isn’t easy. The questions, the stares—the assumption I’m the proud owner of a cock and balls. Not that it matters. I’ve proven over and over that I’m ready for anything the judgmental asses throw at me.
Except the hot, single dad of twins who just moved to town.
Brantley Cooper gets the shock of his life when I show up on his doorstep to fix up his kids’ new rooms. His son is confused why ‘the pretty lady has a drill,’ and his daughter has a new obsession—me.

On paper, my job is easy. Go in, do their bedrooms, and leave.

In theory, I’m spending eight hours a day with a guarded, sexy as hell guy, and I’m staying for dinner more often than I’m eating it alone, on my couch, with Friends re-runs.

I shouldn’t be staying for dinner. I shouldn’t be helping him out with the twins. I shouldn’t be falling in love with tiny toes and dimpled cheeks.
And I most definitely should not be kissing my client.

Why you should read it: Miss Fix-It a fiery, hysterical and ineffably charming rom-com that is a delight to read, and you won’t want it to end. Karli is a sassy, smart contractor, who never expects to fall for a single dad and his adorable toddler twins, but she cannot deny that something powerful is brewing from the moment she bids on his remodel. Their sizzling chemistry is intoxicating, and their exchanges are entertaining and sexually charged. Emma Hart is a master at snappy, witty banter, and her talent is on full display. Miss Fix-It is full of entertaining verbal foreplay, sweet family dynamics and poignant moments, and there’s nothing not to love about Miss Fix-It. I cannot wait to read it again.

But our attraction is powerful. Undeniable.
Because I can’t let anyone close. If the secrets I keep were to be revealed, my whole life would be destroyed. But something about Simon makes me break all my own rules. I’m letting him in to my home, my body, my life, never expecting he has his own secrets.
His own lies.

The Rivalry by Nikki Sloane

The Rivalry by Nikki Sloane

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

This tight end is at the top of his game.
He’s good with his hands, even better with his sexy mouth, and the best at making me forget my own name. His—ahem—stats are perfect.
But I can’t fall for him.
He might be everything I want, all rolled into a glorious package of gridiron god, but there’s one teeny-tiny problem. The vile, loathsome team I’ve spent my entire life hating—my beloved school’s arch-rival?
This guy is their star player.

Why you should read it: The Rivalry is an engaging, witty and sexy romance that is set in the spirited world of college football, and you’ll love this rivals-to-lovers story. Kayla and Jay have an instant connection from the moment they meet that makes both of them feel a little punch drunk, but neither realizes at the time that they’re archenemies due to the colleges they attend. She’s high-spirited, serious about team loyalty and doesn’t think she and Jay can overcome their rivalry, so Jay has to convince her to give him a chance. He’s absolutely delectable as he makes a play for her heart and persuades her to ignore their difference, if only for secret, stolen moments. Their attraction is searing, their developing feelings are exhilarating, and the sex is hot and emotional, and The Rivalry is a must-read for anyone who loves football or anyone just looking for a feel-good, epic love story.
