What Jane Austen Retellings Would You Recommend?

Clueless (1995)Yesterday on Twitter, one of our followers asked us a question: What Jane Austen retellings (particularly Emma and Pride and Prejudice) did we have to recommend? Many fellow users chimed in with their favorites, but for a really great Emma re-telling we found ourselves stumped!

What Jane Austen retellings—particularly of Emma—have you found and loved?

Let us know down in the comments and help a fellow reader out!

Over on Facebook, one of our followers had quite a list:
I read Melissa Nathan's "Acting Up"/ Pride and Prejudice and rather liked it, "Persuading Annie"/Persuasion (didn't really love it, though I read in Dutch, which doesn't help either). I totally ADORED Maria Geraci's "Boyfriend of the Month Club" - a retelling of P&_. Staci Hart made an Emma retelling with "Wasted Words" - didn't really see it in there, though I did like the book. Also Jenni James wrote a lot of retellings, but I haven't yet read them myself.

Two Pride and Prejudice retellings:

"Bride and Prejudice" is an older Bollywood movie that is a lot of fun.

Unleashing Mr. Darcy by Teri Wilson has been adapted to a Hallmark movie. I bought the movie on DVD because it is a favorite of mine. I have yet to read the book.

@lauralee1912 -- Bride and Prejudice is in my Top 5 for P&P remakes!

The webseries Lizzie Bennet Diaries was also great fun, and I have to say I'm a fan of the Romola Garai/Jonny Lee Miller version of Emma.

I really loved The Jane Austen Book Club film( I like the Emma reference plus Hugh Dancy is so cute).
