6 Erotic Romance Authors You Must Read Right Now

Haven by Rebekah Weatherspoon

Erotic romance is a well-established subgenre in romancelandia; one that may be getting increasingly difficult to define as graphic sex (and more of it) makes its way into mainstream contemporary stories—and into other subgenres too. Generally, a book is considered to be erotic romance if sex or the sexuality of the main characters is critical to the book’s conflict. In other words, the sex is a critical part of the development of the romantic relationship; without the sex, there would be no story. But honestly, I can’t always tell if a book should be categorized as erotic or not. Regardless of how you define erotic romance, here are 6 authors who write seriously sexy romances that you should be reading!

Rebekah Weatherspoon

Rebekah Weatherspoon isn’t new to the erotic romance arena, but her recent Beards and Bondage series has garnered some serious praise. Book 1, Haven came out in April of 2017 and Sanctuary in August of 2017. Both books have main characters who are into kink. With this latest series, Weatherspoon has put herself firmly on the list of erotic romances to be reading.

The Book That Will Light the Fire: Haven (Amazon | B&N | Kobo), the 1st book in the Beards and Bondage series has a grumpy, bearded hero, Shep, who lives alone on a mountain with his dog, Titus. He meets his heroine, Claudia, during a very traumatic event which leads to some intense emotion alongside the steamy sex. Is there anything better than beards and bondage?

Thea de Salle

The King of Bourbon Street by Thea de Salle

Thea de Salle is the erotic pen name of a NYT bestselling author whose 1st book in her NOLA Nights series, The King of Bourbon Street, came out in February of 2017. De Salle has a knack for combing wicked humor and naughty sex in her romances. She has since released 2 more books in this series, The Queen of Dauphine Street and The Lady of Royale Street. Both are as hot as the first one.

The Book That Will Light the Fire: The King of Bourbon Street (Amazon | B&N | Kobo) has the larger-than-life Sol DuMont as it hero and the sweet and bubbly Rain Barrington as its heroine. Sol is a been-there-done-that, has-tried-everything type of man who finds his dominant side when he meets Rain. This story features a sybian sex toy, making it rather unforgettable and sexy.

Mia Hopkins

Mia Hopkins has been around for several years, but made a name for herself with her Cowboy Cocktails series which features some down and dirty cowboys who like to get busy with their hands . . . and other appendages as well.

The Book That Will Light the Fire: Cowboy Resurrection (Amazon | B&N | Kobo) is the second book in the Cowboy Cocktails series by Mia Hopkins. This romance has a bullfighter hero, a Sikh-American heroine, a rodeo, plenty of rope, and a bit of kink. The rest of the series rocks just as hard.

Maggie Chase

His Sapphire by Maggie Chase

Maggie Chase is a new name in erotic romance who writes hot historical romances set in the American West in The Jeweled Ladies series. The jeweled ladies work in a brothel and several of them find love over the course of the series. These books are steamy, some even have some kink.

The Book That Will Light the Fire: His Sapphire (Amazon) is the fourth book in the series and is a fantastic redemption story featuring Judge Gerard Hobson and Miss Sapphire Blue, who helps him understand his dominant urges. This book has some kink in it, making it very hot. The judge has been the villain in the previous books in the series which means that readers will enjoy His Sapphire best if they read the series in order.

Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller

Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller both write great erotic romance, but hit a home run when they combined forces in 2016 to write about the kinky proclivities of a group of wealthy Canadian celebrities, including the prime minister in their Frisky Beavers series.

The Book That Will Light the Fire: Prime Minister (Amazon | B&N | Kobo) is the book that launched the Frisky Beavers and is the one featuring the kinky prime minister Gavin and his intern Ellie. This one has a touch of the forbidden as Ellie works for Gavin when they meet and because Gavin must keep his kinky proclivities out of the news. This is a super dirty book that readers should not miss.
