My best read of the month was an ARC of Sawyer Bennett, "Lucas". It's part of her Carolina Cold Furies hockey series but it can holds well on its own. It's a well crafted lust to love story and I really liked it.

I love Sawyer Bennett, I have some catching up to do on the Cold Fury Dudes, but two are scheduled for September.

My Favourite was Amanda Bouchet's "A Promise of Fire". Hope to get the second book read next month.

My best read was actually a listen: the audio version of A Different Blue by Amy Harmon. It was touching, surprising and totally riveting.

My best read of the month was Lady Be Bad, first in Megan Frampton's The Duke's Daughters series. I really loved the attraction which grew between the hero and heroine despite their knowing they aren't supposed to be together.

@Michelle99 -- Now that I've acquired a taste for podcasts, I want to try audiobooks again, so thanks for the Harmon rec!

I picked up Heartstone by Elle Katherine White at RT and just loved it! It's Pride and Prejudice with dragons and a side order of Labyrinth. It's one of the more successful variants on the classic; White does some terrific worldbuilding and really makes the story her own. If you've ever wanted to see Darcy as a badass monster-killing dragonrider, this is the book for you!

Several of my comments from yesterday never appeared, so I'm trying again.
I enjoyed Joanna Bourne's newest book, Beauty Like the Night. I also discovered a new to me author, Christie Meierz, and enjoyed her Tales of Tolari Space series. You can read two stories set in that world for free in her Kindle book, Into Tolari Space (Tales of Tolari Space).

Best read for August was The Darkest Sunrise and The Brightest Sunset from Aly Martinez.
