This is one of the first Lora Leigh books I read, if not the first! Excited to be talking about it with everyone.

Nathan goes to great lengths to survive, but also great lengths to NOT let those he loves know that he is still alive. Do you think you'd do the same in his situation?

While I don't like to think I would do the same in Nathan's situation, I try to remember that he went through a traumatic event and that an experience like that can mess with your head and maybe make you forget that the people who truly love you do so unconditionally and not based on your appearance.

If you were Bella, how do you think you'd react to Nathan's reappearance, and his new persona as “Noah”?

I think I'd probably be afraid someone was playing a horrible joke on me! Especially when you're trying to find closure and solace in the fact that someone you love isn't coming back...

I think I'd probably feel that way for a while.

I love this series! While I couldn't always believe that Nathan really looks SO different and didn't have a total facial reconstruction, I love the pure fantasy of it all. Him being reunited with Bella was just... it was heartbreaking. They'd been through so much and I just loved it! Ugh, and his grandpa! I love their dynamic. Those are my favorites!

@JenWattley -- Oh, man, I hadn't thought of that, but yeah, I would be paranoid it was a cruel joke for a while too, I'm sure. Too good to believe he's really back.

@JenniferProffitt -- The angst! So good.

@JenWattley and @HeatherWaters, You're so right about it being a cruel joke, especially with the role she learns he had. Being a soldier you might start to get paranoid that a spy has come to play you.

Nathan goes to great lengths to survive, but also great lengths to NOT let those he loves know that he is still alive. Do you think you'd do the same in his situation?
This situation could never be the same for me because (1) I am female and (2) I would not have survived the 19 months. But I understand Nathan’s decision to die. Being former military and having lived in an active war zone, I understand Nathan's effort to protect those he cares about by whatever means are available to him. And when an extraordinary amount of trauma occurs, extreme measures are required.

If you were Bella, how do you think you'd react to Nathan's reappearance, and his new persona as “Noah”?
I’m very different from Bella, in that Nathan would never have thought of me as helpless because I wouldn’t ever pretend to be. But it was a clever twist to the plot of this book because, although Bella and Noah’s circumstances were vastly different, they had the common issue of hiding something from each other, both in this time period and in the past.

Did you find the circumstances of Nathan's recovery believable?
Yes. There are many things that the public doesn’t know … as it should be. The only thing I really thought stretched things a bit was the long-term effects of the whore dust. I would have thought that after 4+ years without re-exposure that the psychological aftereffects would be much more lingering that the physical ones. But addiction is not something I know a great deal about, so I’ll let that one slide.

Who was your favorite character?
Grandpop - I’m always drawn to the smartest person in the room.

What was your favorite scene? Did it make your heart melt or pound? Tell us what you felt about it!
When Noah found out that Grant “knew” and had known from his first encounter with Noah. I knew there had to be a story there; otherwise, Grandpop’s handling of the situation for 24 years would have been much different.

I’ve never read this author before; thank you for the introduction!
I loved this book!

No, I do not think I would. I'd have been gone / dead within a month. Call me a wimp.

If you were Bella, how do you think you'd react to Nathan's reappearance, and his new persona as “Noah”?
I'd flip the hell out. But I respect the way she handled it. She let him come around in his own time after drawing a couple of her own lines in the sand. She gets respect for that.

Did you find the circumstances of Nathan's recovery believable?
I really do not know. I have no scope of reference for this. None at all. And I am totally ok with that.

Who was your favorite character?
Rory. He got the short end. He deserves some HEA.

What was your favorite scene? Did it make your heart melt or pound? Tell us what you felt about it!
When Sabella decided she wasn't having any of this sh!t any longer. And let everyone know. I like a heroine who knows when to say enough is enough.
