Top 10 Lorraine Heath Historical Novels

An Affair with a Notorious Heiress by Lorraine Heath

Lorraine Heath is becoming a Queen among Historical Romance writers because it seems she can do wrong. Each story that comes out has it all. I’m talking chemistry, a hero who is battered but not broken, a strong and multi-layered heroine, and a love that conquers all!  Below is a very opinionated opinion of her top 10 historical romances, in honor of her newest, An Affair with a Notorious Heiress.  At first I thought this would be easy but I love all of her books. How to rank, then?

10. Waking Up With the Duke

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

Duke of Ainsley is known for his bedroom prowess. But he’s also been charged by his injured best friend to make a baby with said wife. Everything about this scenario shouldn’t work, but it does, thanks to Heath’s brilliant storytelling. And how will this end up with a happily ever after?

9. An Affair with a Notorious Heiress

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

The Marquess of Rexton has spent his life trying to attain respectability after suffering from the ununusual parentage of his common mother. Now he’ll stop at nothing to attain the Lady Lansdowne, even if he has to fake court her sister, despite the Lady’s scandal….

8. Surrender to the Devil

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

Frannie is a pickpocket and street thief, not a lady. Yet she can’t deny the attraction to the Duke of Greystone, despite his selfish desires to only bed her not wed her. Note: these are the parents of #9 the Marquess of Rexton.

Pleasures of a Notorious Gentleman by Lorraine Heath

7. Pleasures of a Notorious Gentleman

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

This book is all about simple deception and how love can conquer all. Especially for the “black sheep” second son determined to prove his worth. Now injured from war, he in unable to recognize the woman who has his babe. Yet he can’t deny his attraction to her, despite her not being all whom she seems.

6. When the Duke Was Wicked

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

This is your friends to lovers book. Yes I love this trope. The duke of Lovingdon is charged with helping his long time friend Grace distinguish when I man truly loves her or her money.

5. Between the Devil and Desire

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

Jack Dodger, once a hellion and a thief, now owner of one of the most exclusive gaming hells must lean to cohabit with the now Duchess of Lovingdon, now that the much older late duke left everything to Jack. It’s a tale of opposites attract. And they do indeed, as this was an all-night page turner

Earl Takes It All by Lorraine Heath

4. Earl Takes It All

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

How was Heath going to accomplish this one? The late Earl dies and his twin deceives the countess and poses as his brother? Nothing should work yet it unfolds so beautifully, you want the new Earl and Countess to work, deception and all.

3. When the Marquess Falls

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

This is the only novella that made it on the list but it’s jam packed with goodness. Why is the uncle crazy? Why can’t he let go? Why is the ending so bitter-sweet? Why is the love story so tragic yet delicious? This is one novella not to be missed, what with all the emotion and love.

2. Midnight Pleasures with a Scoundrel

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

James Swindler has had a rough past. Now he has worked so hard to lead a life so wholly different from his upbringing. He now works both streets and the salons with ease. Yet when a mysterious woman holds secrets and he is tasked following her, he risks everything to be with her, even his unsavory past. This book probably has the best twist of them all, at least for me.

Falling into Bed with a Duke by Lorraine Heath

1. Falling into Bed with a Duke

(Amazon | B&N | Kobo)

This book might just be my favorite and it is all about the feels!!!  It has everything. A spinster-virgin? Check! A bruised yet alpha rogue? Check! An attraction that cannot be? Check! A clandestine effort? Check! Refusal and making one work for the HEA? Check. Yes! I love this one and it involves some minor kink, too. I could not put this one down, and I was swept away. More proof I definitely must have been British aristocracy in a former life.
