9 New Adult Best Bets of May 2017!

Rocked Up by Karina Halle & Scott Mackenzie

Alpha babes are always the best plan...

This month’s read have very different characters that realize that life doesn’t always go according to plan. Whether you’re a rock star that just got dumped at his fabulous proposal or a former puck bunny that’s trying to redeem herself, life always throws you the curve balls. These curve balls sometimes come in hockey player sized packages or maybe in Alpha-Male hotness. These New Adult reads illustrate that life comes as it may but finding the right partner can make it all better.

Rocked Up by Karina Halle and Scott Mackenzie is a standalone book from this husband and wife duo that is a sweet and funny read. Lael Ramsey has always been off limits to Brad as the boss’ daughter. And then she auditions for the bass player position in his band and everything changes. Close quarters, different cities every night and a rock star lifestyle will shake everything up.

Shacking Up by Helena Hunting is another very fun read. In a serendipitous moment, Ruby ends up a party where she mistakenly kisses a man who may be super-hot but he’s also super sick. This causes such a backlash on her life that forces her to need to find a new job FAST. Being a pet-sitter sounds quick and easy until she realizes her new boss is also the reason for her recent string of bad luck. Bane and Ruby immediately have chemistry and their story is so endearing. There are plenty of hot moments mixed in with feel-good romance that tugs on your heartstrings.

When It’s Real by Erin Watt is a new venture for one of my favorite author duos. It’s an angst-filled story of a fake romance between a pop star and a “normal” teen girl. What I really enjoyed about the story is how genuine the heroine comes across. Vaughn Bennett is an orphan who is trying to find her direction in life and putting up with an arrogant pop star wasn’t part of the plan. But, Vaughn always puts family first and she’s going to do what she has to do. As the “fake romance” ventures into more and more dates, she realizes that Oakley is made of many different layers. This fake romance might be the realest thing she’s ever experienced.

Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny by Cindi Madsen is a sweet and sexy romance about a girl who is trying to just graduate. As a reformed puck bunny, she’s no stranger to hockey players but goes out of her way to avoid them. When Ox is paired up as her tutor for the one math class she needs to graduate, she must face her biggest challenge. But, Ox is more than just a hockey player and he’s determined to prove it to Lindsay.

Until Sage by Aurora Rose Reynolds is a story of second chances. Sage and Kim have a brief history and Kim has kept him at arm’s length since. But, when her world is turned upside down after the murder of her twin, Sage is the only one who might be able to put her back together. This is a classic alpha story with lots of booming chemistry.

Abbi Glines' Boys South of Mason Dixon is all about the love triangle. In this country romance, one girl is pulled between two brothers. This story has more of twists and turns than expected and keeps you enthralled with its soap opera like drama.

Mister Romance by Leisa Rayven

Mister Romance by Leisa Rayven is a romance novel version of Hitch. Max is the connoisseur of all things romance but, he keeps his identity hidden in order to better help his clients. When an investigate reporter comes sniffing around, he asks for three dates in order to protect his identity. Cynthia is utterly taken in by Max’s charming personality but as feelings develop, Cynthia has to decide if he’s being honest or if she’s just another client.

Real Dirty Duet by Meghan March is the story of Boone Thrasher, country’s sexy singer. This book is different in that our hero is a lot more vulnerable but still alpha. I mean he gets left at what should be a perfect proposal! He’s the one that’s picking himself up by the boot straps and continuing with what he wants to do. The heroine is also a great counterpart to Boone and their chemistry sings right off the pages.

L.J. Shen’s Ruckus is a standalone in the Sinners of Saint series. In this edition, Rosie the sister of a previous heroine, she’s suffering from an invisible illness that can strike at any time. Dean is the jerk that she’s know for a very long time and he may just be what the doctor ordered. But will he make it in time? This series pushes boundaries and makes you question everything you know about relationships. These love-hate relationships are unique and spellbinding.

I loved the buildup and the plotting in these novels that keep us on our toes. What are you reading this month?
