October 2016 New Adult Romance Best Bets: Things That Hump Go Bump in the Night

Honor by Jay Crownover

October is the month when the temps start cooling (for some people) but the romance gets hotter. There’s more suspenseful but romantic readings and even some stories that go hump bump in the night. This month gives us a good blend, in New Adult, of these kind of reads. From villains finding their match to thrilling reads that include characters getting their ultimate revenge even to the paranormal with some Dragon Riders that are sure to steal your heart. Check out this month’s best bets in New Adult.

Honor by Jay Crownover is gripping and raises my stress levels. Nassir has been in the background of all the other books in the series (each can be read as a standalone) and he’s finally getting his story with Key. Filled with tension, there’s a raw energy between the characters that electrifies the story. True to each of their spirits, this book has darker themes but, Jay makes you believe that even a villain deserves to have his other half.

Twisted Palace by Erin Watt is the conclusion to this deliciously suspenseful series and it doesn’t hold back. With drama, great emotions and even higher stakes Ella and the Royals must find the answers they seek, before it’s too late. One of my favorite reads of the month, I can’t wait for more from this author duo.

Thief of Hearts by L.H. Cosway

Thief of Hearts by L.H. Cosway is a standalone novel in the Hearts series that has a Bonnie and Clyde vibe I was feeling! Andrea is a teacher of adults, each with their own eccentric characteristics. When Stu Cross enters her classroom, she’s thrown for a loop. Stu doesn’t look or act like her typical student and their attraction is instant. Andrea and Stu each have with their own baggage but, Stu might tip over the scales. When intense feelings come into play, Stu will have to ditch his original plan or risk losing the best thing that has ever happened to him.

Sugar Free by Sawyer Bennett is the finale of the sexy suspense series, Sugar Bowl. It must be read in order! It’s a dark series but with sexy, dynamic relationships and a plot that sucks you in.

Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas is the story of two pen pals mistakenly paired as a boy-girl combo but, their letters become a necessity to the two. For seven years their letters sustain them through the good and bad, until Misha suddenly stops. What started off as a magical friendship quickly morphs into an intoxicating relationship that will either destroy or save them.

Beautiful by Christina Lauren is the final hurrah for the Beautiful series. Concluding out with many cameos from previous characters, Christina Lauren gives a farewell that both closes and begins new chapters for all. Two new main characters, Jensen and Pippa (though previously mentioned in books) throw caution to the wind. They might have been strangers but they have a connection that is hard to ignore. Their whirlwind romance sets up for a beautiful ending to the series.

Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken is a feel-good retelling of the classic Cinderella story. With wild antics, banter and swoon worthy heroes, it’s an entertaining read that will charm you from start to finish.

Four Letter Word by J. Daniels

Four Letter Word by J. Daniels IS ALPHATASTIC. Sydney is trying to call the man who broke her best friend’s heart to give him a piece of her mind but, ends up dialing a perfect stranger. This stranger captures her attention and what was a mistake leads to daily text messages that strengthen Sydney. He doesn’t know how much his texts have helped her, or does he? This mysterious stranger may be closer than she thinks but his past may tear them apart before they can even begin.

Dragons Need Love, Too by Lani Lynn Vale is the second in this fun story about dragon riders and their heroines. Nikolai is not your average dragon rider, he’s extremely smart but is more comfortable around computers than people. He doesn’t have any use for people outside of his family until he meets Brooklyn. Healing from a recent attack, Brooklyn is wary of Nikolai’s attention until the danger seeks her out again. Hold on to the seat of your dragon, this is a wild ride!

The Player by Claire Contreras

The Player by Claire Contreras has a very famous soccer star (please look at that cover) and a girl from NY that has no clue who he is as the MCs. Camila has very different priorities than Warren; she’s looking at student loans, dealing with family issues when Warren flips her world upside down. These two strangers connect but distance might not be the only thing that holds them back from being together. Sparks fly both on and off the field in this book.

These October reads are sure to keep you warm at night. What NA reads top your list this month?
