What is Your Favorite Word?

The Huffington Post spotlights a campaign that resulted in a delightful Tumblr comprised of people's favorite words, including crepuscular, syzygy, schizothemia, and higgledy-piggledy.

What is your favorite word?

Mine is 'why'. It is the word I have used most in my life.

'fuck' is my favorite word. It's multi-purpose. It can be subbed in for a variety of other words. It can be used positively. It can be used negatively. You can add an unending amount of suffixes, prefixes and verb endings to create a whole new assortment of words to fit any need.

But the coolest word is defenestration.

I have so many favorite words (don't we all?). I love penultimate, interstitial, solipsistic, feral, and I love the sound of fish (I love fish, too, but that doesn't factor into favorite word choice). Like @keen23, I also love fuck and defenestration.

I have lots of favorite words, too, but "select" is one I usually pick as the favorite. Select sounds classier than pick or choose (select one option) and when something is select it is special. Other favorite words are pixel, weird, and decode. I use the word "decode" a lot in my work in the data network world and really wanted to name my spaniel Decode. I lost and he answers to Scout.

@lauralee1912,
really wanted to name my spaniel Decode. I lost and he answers to Scout.
That's why you give animals no choice. That's hilarious! P.S. I like how all of your words are relatively "simple" but they are fun to say! I just say here saying "select" over and over--I like how harsh and exact it sounds.

Personally, I've always liked the word succulent. I just think it's fun to say...plus I like the plant! Most of the time, I can't think of a favorite word--though I have some verbal ticks, like I'll notice I say one word a lot. I had an English teacher that asked us to pick our favorite word, and I struggled then, but I remember her saying she liked the word "kismet," which I kind of do too!
