Friday Beefcake: Favorites of ’14 with Pratt, Mison, DeKay, and More!

Nick BatemanWe like to ask our bloggers the tough questions. So when the end of the year rolled around we thought we'd ask them the toughest question of all: Who was their favorite, hottest, new-to-them, on-their-“List” beefcake? They didn't disappoint! See some of the picks (and pics) and reasons behind their choices. You may be surprised!

Who was on your list this year? Let us know in the comments and share a picture of your own favorite beefcake of the year!

Nick Bateman (Above ^):
We don't always love ads, but when model Nick Bateman is on them...we find we have less to complain about.

Chris Pratt:
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Pratt revealed that his wife, actress Anna Faris, actually preferred him with a little extra padding, rather than the svelte figure he cut in Guardians of the Galaxy. While we've had a deep love for Chris for a while, we're not gonna lie...we certainly didn't hate that shirtless scene in Guardians, no matter what his wife says.

Jessie Pavelka:
We've featured him before on the site, but this fall, we get a weekly dose of Jessie on our TV screens as he's taken a position as a trainer on The Biggest Loser.

Colin O'Donoghue:
Team H&H's Jenn Proffitt started watching Once Upon a Time again just for the shipping between Hook and Emma...and oh yeah, Colin O'Donoghue as Hook is totally worth it.Colin O'Donoghue

Aidan Turner:
Perception is everything, and while not everyone would have immediately thought that Kili the Dwarf would become a heartthrob, it was through the eyes of Tauriel that we began to love him too. And now we see Turner for all his merits!Aidan Turner

Evgeni Malkin from the Pittsburgh Penguins:
We love athletes in romance, so of course that love had to start out in the real world. That smile...those biceps...what's not to love?Evgeni Malkin

Kayne Lawton:
Another athlete to love. While Rugby isn't the most active sport in America, we sure are glad for Rugby players worldwide! Yum!Kayne Lawton

Daniel Henney:
OMG Daniel Henney, is all our blogger had to say...and isn't that enough?Daniel Henney

Brock O'Hurn:
This guy is new to us and thanks to one of our bloggers, we have a feeling we'll be getting to know him (and his endless gallery of  Instagram selfies—thank you, Internet!) very well in the new year. If anyone is looking for inspiration for Viking romance, this guy might fit the bill: He's 6'7'' and built like a brick house.Brock O'Hurn

Tim DeKay:
Move over Matt Bomer! Hello Tim DeKay, says our blogger. “He's handsome, rugged, and intelligent. He's a grown-up. He's the thinking woman's beefcake.”Tim DeKay

Michael B. Jordan:
Our blogger said ”because of that smile,“ and we have to agree! We saw him a lot in 2014, and we'll only be seeing more of him in 2015—hopefully he'll have a few shirtless scenes in Fantastic Four like his predecessor, Chris Evans (one can only hope).Michael B. Jordan

Ian Anthony Dale:
The hot men in a hot climate one of reasons we tuned into Hawaii Five-O, and Ian Anthony Dale was a big part of that. We look forward to seeing more of him in 2015!Ian Anthony Dale

Mark Duplass:
Our blogger had this to say about why she finds herself so drawn to Mark Duplass (a la The Mindy Project, Safety Not Guaranteed, and The League): ”That appealing everyman Mark Duplass was everywhere this year and I don't even know why I find him attractive — he looks like the kind of guy you'd run into at the grocery store or the post office. He looks like the fellow down in IT or Accounting you don't even notice, except then one day you do notice him and it's like WHOA AND RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE TOO. He looks like the dad who coaches his five-year-old's soccer team and calls out “Good try, Madison!” even when Madison's shot goes so wide of the goal that it rolls out into the parking lot and then he needs to crawl under the opposing coach's Outback to retrieve it.

On second thought, maybe that's why I find him attractive."Mark Duplass

Tom Mison:
He may not be that new, but as bumbling and intellectual Ichabod Crane on Sleepy Hollow, we fall a little more in love with him with every episode. He's the Hugh Grant for the next generation.

Ed Sheeran:
And then there's that moment when Ed Sheeran went from the guy who sings love songs, but was kind of goofy looking, to the guy that we had mildly inappropriate sexual thoughts about, thanks to this music video:

The biggest of hat tips to all of our bloggers who contributed to this beefcake post—thanks for all you do, yearround. This beefcake is dedicated to you!

This might be my favorite post of the year. Such variety!

And Ibbitts is totally right about the rhumba thing.

@BoxyFrown, I know, I have loved Aidan Turner since before he was a Dwarf--I remember trying to look up stuff on him and some Days of Our Lives (or something) actor kept popping up and I was SO. Mad! And you've made Brock my new fictional boyfriend--I just want to lick him (and then get hair tips!)
