Favorite Unexpected Christmas Movie?

There are the obvious choices for best Christmas movies: Love Actually, Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, all the iterations of A Christmas Carol, etc.

And then there are films that happen to take place around Christmas that people cite as Christmas films, like Die Hard, The Thin Man, and Metropolitan

What are your favorite unexpected Christmas movies?

My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story. I love Ralphie! I'll bet there could be an awesomely cute romance written with grown-up Ralphie ;-)

I can't think of any "unexpected" movies.

Another site was giving recommendations of movies that maybe aren't as well remembered as Christmas movies. Most of them I had never watched like Ernie Saves Christmas or something like that-- I've never watched an Ernie movie. One movie they did recommend that I had actually watched was Family Stone -- which I really liked. . .not sure I would watch again though.

Doesn't Sleepless in Seattle have a sort of Christmas theme. Maybe it starts out at Christmas. . .It's been too long.

Unaccompanied Minors is one, sort of, as is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. I know there are often films that have a Christmas scene, but aren't Christmas movies per se, but of course I can't remember any of them now!

I'm totally dating myself, but my favorites are Lethal Weapon and Trading Places. And one of my all-time favorites, though it might be considered a more traditional Christmas movie, is We're No Angels -- the original with Humphrey Bogart. Man, now I'm going to have to watch it soon.

Updated: How could I forget my absolute, #1 all-time favorite? Gremlins!

We always watch Die Hard and Gremlins on Christmas Eve. Who doesn't love Gizmo!?
