What Are You Planning to Read on Your Long Weekend?

Joe ManganielloIt's the unofficial end of summer in the United States with Labor Day coming on Monday, giving Americans a day off.

An extra day to do whatever you want—sounds amazing, right? So make sure you take some time for yourself and do what you like doing best—reading, naturally! (What did you think we meant?)

So what are you planning to read on your long weekend?

I hope to be reading. I made the mistake of starting to paint my ceiling after some water damage repair. Other people make it seem so easy. And now I have a big mess -- a ceiling with patches -- lightly applied paint in some areas and in other areas heavy. And youtube will drive you crazy with the different advice.

I started this yesterday, thinking ok three hours or so on ceiling then on to trim -- ha.

Off to get more paint, more brushes, bigger paint container, and lots more tape --to tape up plastic coverings. I better not still be messing with this on Monday!

I have a lot of yard work to get done this weekend, but in between bouts of weeding, I hope to read Lecia Cornwall's What A Lady Most Desires. I have been waiting for Stephen's story ever since the last scene of The Secret Life of Lady Julia, which ended with him riding into battle at Waterloo, and which broke my heart.

I am also reading How the Scots Invented the Modern World, nonfiction by Arthur Herman.

I started reading Infamous by Suzanne Brockmann thanks to the thread about recovery yesterday. This is the first of her books I have read and I am enjoying it so far. My TBR file is crammed full on my Kindle so I have plenty to pick from for my next read. I am on call Monday for work, so I may or may not get some reading done.
