You Know Nothing: What’s the Last Thing You Read You Knew Nothing About?

With romance novel sites (such as this one!), social media, conferences, book signings, and other opportunities for virality, it's now hard to find an author about whom you know nothing

But there has to be something you picked up purely because of the blurb, the cover, or the price (no word of mouth allowed!).

What's the last thing you read that you knew nothing about before?

I picked up this book that looked interesting on amazon, never heard of the author just took the plunge becuase of the blurb. I finished it this morning and I am incredibly angry with the ending. I CAN'T. I didn't read the full blurb so I missed the part where it said THIS IS NOT A CONVENTIONAL HEA. I'll be working through my book funk today. PS. You know nothing is my favortie quote to use as a goodbye.

I picked up Andy Weir's The Martian: A Novel from the new book shelf at the library back in April knowing nothing about it. I don't typically read science fiction, but it was an excellent and entertaining read. In movie terms, it's a cross between Cast Away and Apollo 13.

I'm afraid that, even if a book attracts my attention by cover or blurb, I'll go check it out at Goodreads or other review source before I invest my time on it.

I recently read, Transcendence by Shay Savage, and I really liked it. I didn't know when I started reading it if I would like it, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. It was something different, and by the end of the book it had me crying like a baby(a hard thing to do) It's definitely not a book that I will forget anytime soon.

Night -owl, I had heard much praise for Shay Savage's Transcendence; however, I was similarly impressed. It was certainly a different reading experience.
