Happy Mother’s Day! What Did You Read?

Now that Mother's Day is past, we want to know just what you got to do on your day—and most importantly, what you got to READ!

Did you receive books as Mother's Day gifts, or was there chocolate and flowers? Or all three? Did you go out to eat, did your kids serve you breakfast in bed, and was there at least one nap?

But most importantly—what did you read yesterday?

I had purchased a book by one of my favorite authors and forgotten about it. So, it was very nice surprise to find After the Wedding by Roisin Meaney on my Kindle. (published 4/3/14)

She is an Irish author. Reading her books always make me feel like I taken a trip to Europe.

I worked in my garden and read Southern Fried Blues by Jamie Farrell. Loved the story and I should say more like inhaled it than read it! I think Jackson could be my book boyfriend for a while. I claim my dogs one-clicked it for me for Mother's Day since there is a spaniel named Radish in the book. :)

@lauralee1912 -- lol on your dogs buying the book for you. I can't claim that, but at least my youngest, and biggest dog was satified with a couple of ball throws every four hours or so and she let me read, without dropping the ball in my lap every few minutes. My cocker spaniels were content to have a lazy day with me.

I wasn't able to read at all yesterday (SOB!), but today on the commute in, I've been devouring KJ Charles's Non-Stop Til Tokyo, which I am LOVING.

I'm not a Mom, but in honor of my own Mother I did laundry yesterday. Because what's more important to a Mom than knowing her child is wearing clean underwear?

I inhaled Ruin Me by Jamie Brenner yesterday - and stayed up too late to finish it. Got completely sucked into the world-building - which tends to happen a lot with me reading Brenner's books.....

I've been slowly making my way through Kristen Ashley's Sweet Dreams. It's mammoth so it's been taking me longer than usual.

I did a re-read of Wen Spencer's Elfhom series: Tinker, Wolf Who Rules, Elfhome and Wood Sprites. I got lost trying to figure out the timeline. My kids were great about giving me peace and quiet to read; best gift ever.

On Sunday, I read Snow-Kissed by Laura Florand which had me sniffling throughout. I also read Far Gone by Laura Griffin. I started The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan and finished that today. All were very good.
