Most Unlikely Hero?

Pop culture fiction has been awash in anti-heroes lately—men whose actions are deplorable, yet we somehow end up rooting for them.

With Hannibal returning to television this week, The Blacklist still doing well in its first season, and Game of Thrones returning in April, our list of so-bad-they're-good heroes is getting longer and longer.

So who, out of all the heroes/anti-heroes you've seen or read about, has seemed, at first meeting, to be the most unlikely hero you'd ever root for?

Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones. I don't want to spoil too much for those that haven't read the books, but he's not the hideous monster you think he is in book one when he pushes Bran out the window for catching him shtupping his sister.

Jaime is a great choice, Phoebe. I was also thinking of Al Swearengen from Deadwood, who is HORRIBLE when you first meet him, and then you come to root for him.

Boyd Crowder from Justified. I find him more compeling than the hero of the show.

Jax from Sons of Anarchy - I get caught up in his problems and want him to have an HEA despite all the awful things he's done.

I LOATHE, LOATHE, LOATHE Hannibal and cannot ever think of that character and hero in the same sentence. I refused to watch that movie because I knew Anthony Hopkins would turn in a stellar performance and somehow make the character "attractive", ugh!

Paul Spector from The Fall. Has anyone seen that show? It's so disturbing..yet somehow I kept watching the show. I found it is very well written, for me to have such mixed emotions about a character that does such horrible acts.
