Loveliest “I Love You” Scenes?

“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.—Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen

”I’ve always seen you, angel. From the moment you found me, I’ve seen nothing but you.—Bared to You, Sylvia Day

“For thousands of nights I dreamed of making love to you. No man on earth has ever hated sunrise as I do.—Again the Magic, Lisa Kleypas

Romance novels, of course, have their ”I love you“ scenes, but they aren't all equal; some moments are so lovely, so precious, they make your chest tighten and you utter some sort of soft sound as your brain processes just how amazing the words are.

Which ”I love you" scene makes your breath catch the most?

The scene in Unholy Magic where Terrible tells Chess how he feels about her, and subsequent instances, are my favorite chest tightening, shallow breath "I love you" scenes:

"I want you, Chess. Make no mistake on that one, dig? Want you bad. So bad I ain't even can think of any else sometimes...."

"....But you oughta have yourself certain, causen I ain't lookin for charity, and I ain't lettin you go after. Once...once ain't enough for me, dig?"

"You know I love you, aye? Love you right, Chessiebomb."

"I love you so bad."

"Always want you, Chessiebomb. Always."

The scene in One Silent Night by Sherrily Kenyon when Stryker tells his wife that he would never give up his life because she is his life, and he couldn't bear to lose her.

One of my absolute favorites is in Shadowfever and Barrons says, "You're Mac and I'm Jericho. And nothing else matters. Never will. You exist in a place that is beyond all rules for me. Do you understand that?" And Mac thinks - I do. Jericho Barrons just told me he loves me.

I also just read Fever by Maya Banks and I had tears in my eyes when Bethany and Jace tell each other they love each other for the first time.

@Lizzie Dee, That sounds really good! I have the Fever series, but haven't read it yet. I'm putting it off, because I was having trouble making it through her Highlander series. But I think I need to move the Fever series up my TBR pile now. : )
