Poll: What’s Your Favorite Type of Sport in Romance?

We've had sports on the brain all this week as we prepare for Super Bowl XLVII. Not only is there an opportunity to eat, drink, and be merry with friends and family, but it's also an excuse to oggle the incredibly fit bodies of the football players. In the past we've talked about why we love sports romance and have shared some of our favorite series featuring athletes, now we want to know what is your favorite sport to see featured in a romance novel or series. Susan Elizabeth Phillips made golf sexy, Jaci Burton and Bella Andre get our vote for MVP for football, and Rachel Gibson and Deirdre Martin really know how to score with their hockey romance, but what's your favorite? Vote in the poll and let us know in the comments!

I love them all, except I detest martial arts. I like when martial arts skills take care of the bad guys, but I hate that spectator stuff that takes place in a ring.

I voted for hockey becos I love Rachel Gibson's hockey books. I saw that golf got the lowest rating but thanks to Susan Elizabeth Phillips' Lady be Good and Call Me Irresistible i thought golf seemed quite sexy.

@Lizzie R, yeah, it was because of Susan Elizabeth Phillips's books that we included golf because otherwise it's not very sexy...

@nikkiphilton, Yeah, I don't particularly like martial arts in real life but I like it in theory in romance. For example Lori Foster has a series featuring MMA fighters. I try not to think about the cauliflower ears a lot of fighters have though—definitely not sexy.

Looking for more sports romance where the heroine is an athlete as well. I really liked 'Offside (The Barker Triplets)'.

I'd have to say hockey right now and it's all because of Rachel Gibson's books. I have actually become a real fan of the sport (i.e. actually rooting for a team and watching games) because it seemed so interesting in the stories.

I was already a football fan so SEPs books just packed it on. Love them. Still not a fan of golf though.
