Write On! NaNoWriMo Starts Today

It's November 1st, which for many aspiring writers means a chance to participate in NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month.

The goal is to write a book (50,000+ words) in a month. According to its website, NaNoWriMo's “Participants pledge to write 50,000 words in a month, starting from scratch and reaching 'The End' by November 30. There are no judges, no prizes, and entries are deleted from the server before anyone even reads them.”

Have you ever thought about writing a book? Have you started? Have you finished? Good luck to all NaNoWriMo participants!

I've started! I'm rocking two novels this year, so I need to make sure I keep up my motivations! It's my fifth year doing NaNo (I won for the first time last year!) and I LOVE it :)

I've got a book to finish this month, so I'm going to feed off the NaNoWriMo energy to try to do it, but not officially join (since the book was already begun). So amazed at those of you who've done it and won!

I planned on participating this year, however the amount of work I have this semester is proving to be far too time consuming. Perhaps I'll write a little bit on the weekends and see where that takes me.

I've been planning on writing a book for quite a while now, but I can't seem to find the time yet. I already have the main storyplot and characters, I'm still working on giving more substance to my secondary characters. I guess I'll just buckle down to writing it when I'm finally ready to. Probably not for this year's NaNo ;-)
