An Early Gift: Lisa Kleypas’s Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor Will Be a Movie!

Sean Faris will be Mark NolanHallmark Hall of Fame announced today that filming begins this week on Christmas with Holly, a film adaptation of Lisa Kleypas’s Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor. Kleypas confirmed the news on her Facebook page, adding that the movie will premiere on ABC in December.

The movie will star Sean Faris (The Vampire Diaries, Leverage) as Mark Nolan and Eloise Mumford (The River, Lone Star) as Maggie Collins.

More news as we get it, of course, but what do you think? Anything in particular you hope the movie gets just right? And is it just us, or is December looking much too far away now? A re-read of the Friday Harbor series may be in order... (For instant gratification, there’s always our excerpts of Rainshadow Road and Dream Lake, books 2 and 3 in the series.)

Oh my God. I haven't even dreamt that one of my favourite novels of my favourite author will be a movie. I hope result won't be disappointing.

I just hope they try to stay as true to the book as possible. I was really disappointed in some of the Lifetime movies based on Nora Roberts novels. I really love this book and I don't want a movie to ruin the afterglow.

Glad I bought the book first (got a hardcover on sale) so I can read it before the movie. ;)
