Amy Michaels loves her new life in Lucky Harbor. A waitress in the local diner, she’s looking forward to her first weekend hike through the mountains. But when a wrong turn takes her off the trail, she finds herself up close and personal with forest ranger Matt Bowers. And even though she’s tempted to kiss that sexy smile right off his face, she won’t make the mistake of getting involved with the town heartthrob.

A former cop whose life went south, Matt doesn’t let anyone get too close. But something about the feisty beauty caught his eye the moment he first saw her in the diner. After a hot night under a starry sky, Matt can’t deny their attraction-or the fact that for the first time in a long time, he feels the stirrings of something more. Now it’s up to Matt to help Amy see that, no matter what is in their past, together they can build a future in Lucky Harbor.

At Last is Jill Shalvis’s fifth book in her Lucky Harbor series. Amy is a waitress at Eat Me, Lucky Harbor’s local restaurant, and won’t let anyone get close to her. Matt is the local forest ranger, and he eats at Eat Me daily just to ogle Amy. Amy is attracted to Matt, but doesn’t want to get involved with the sexy ranger—but as much as she tries to fight it, her attraction to Matt isn’t going away any time soon. Both Matt and Amy don’t like letting anyone get close, but that might be the one thing that will bring them together.

At Last is a sexy, romantic read about starting over and learning from the sins of your past. Matt and Amy both have pasts that make them leery of relationships. But Matt isn’t afraid to pursue his attraction to Amy. Amy wants no part of Matt even though Ranger Hot Buns is constantly rescuing her and coming to her aid.

“You might not know this, but on top of keeping Yogi in line and all the squirrel wrangling I do, rescuing fair maidens is also part of my job description.”

What I love about Jill Shalvis’ books is that she writes sexy, adorable heroes. Sexy Ranger Hot Buns Matt is no exception—he’s the epitome of a sexy man coming to the rescue.

Like the previous books in the Lucky Harbor series, the story focuses on a hero and heroine that you can root for. The characters are likable and relatable; they could easily be someone you know. I loved that not only is the road to romance is believable, but the sexual tension is out of this world. And of course, in true Shalvis fashion, she expertly mixes in humor that has you laughing out loud.

At Last is a great addition to the Lucky Harbor series, and the entire series is a wonderful comfort read where the characters are like family.
