Kresley Cole Would Like Us to Meet the Dacians, Out First in Shadow’s Claim!

Immortals After Dark — Passion is Power imageOn her Facebook page today, Kresley Cole shared the back cover blurb for her Nov. 27, 2012, release Shadow’s Claim. Shadow’s Claim introduces The Dacians, “a new paranormal romance collection following the royal bloodline of Dacia, a vampire kingdom hidden within the Lore of the Immortals After Dark.”

The hero of Shadow’s Claim is Prince Trehan, “a ruthless master assassin who will do anything to possess Bettina, his beautiful Sorceress mate, even compete for her hand in a blood-sport tournament—to the death.” Here’s the blurb:

Trehan Daciano, known as the Prince of Shadows, has spent his life serving his people, striking in the night, quietly executing any threat to their realm. The coldly disciplined swordsman has never desired anything for himself—until he beholds Bettina, the sheltered ward of two of the Lore’s most fearsome villains.

Desperate to earn her guardians’ approval after a life-shattering mistake, young Bettina has no choice but to marry whichever suitor prevails—even though she’s lost her heart to another. Yet one lethal competitor, a mysterious cloaked swordsman, invades her dreams, tempting her with forbidden pleasure.

Even if Trehan can survive the punishing contests to claim her as his wife, the true battle for Bettina’s heart is yet to come. And unleashing a millennium’s worth of savage need will either frighten his Bride away—or stoke Bettina’s own desires to a fever-pitch....

Dang-it! I'm all for more Kresley Cole, but I want Nix's HEA!! She's suffering too much :-(

This is one author where I will read anything she writes - even if Nix needs to wait a while ;) Although I'm not willing to follow her in YA - I just can't.So I'm super excited about this one!

So not in the mood for YA. ;)

She needs to get her books out faster! The wait is killing me!

Just LOVE Kressley Cole. She is an amazing writer and her characters are so engaging that you just can't wait until the next chapter. But I agree, I wish her books were published faster, but I guess you can't rush genius.

KC has a unique way of writing which I adore. Her heroes are yummy and possessive, and she can pen an engaging, likeable heroine like probably no other. Despite of all that, I confess that I'm not that much looking forward to reading her new series, especially the YA one.
Personally (and I might be biased since I'm a huge IAD fan), I'd have suggested that she stuck to the IAD series until that was done. There are too many characters whose stories demand to be written; starting not one but two series alongside the IAD may decrease the loyalty and interest amongst the readers for the series.
Regardless, I do hope she writes Lanthe's story next, even before Nix's.
Maybe next year, Ms. Cole?

Total agreement! I can't get enough of IAD and several are on my keeper shelf. Do hope Nix's story is already in the works!

I actually just checked the Kresley Cole site and the new Dacian book Shadow's Claim is listed under the IAD series, so no worries folks about an additional spin-off.

I am personally still frantically awaiting Nix's story, Lanthe's story ( I still think Throno's might be the one), Annika's re-emergence (where has she been since "A Hunger Like No Other"?), the discovery and rise of Fury (and who is her mystery fated mate?), what's going to happen with Kristoff (will the only sheltered Dacian heiress be the one?), will Rok find more than a "swimbo" one day... my list of Kresley Cole stories needing to be written goes on and on.

My only problem with KC's new book is it's in HARDBACK! For me with a limited budget and no storage space (all KC's are keepers) is I'll have to wait and pray my local library will purchase a copy I can reserve...I really hate when publishers do that to rising hot authors. Lynsay Sands told them to back off with her April Argeneau release yah. It's all about the $$$! Unfortunately for me it means another year's wait for what seems like already long time between books...I know you can't rush genius :-).
