A Clash of Kings: Team H&H Is Ready for Game of Thrones Season 2

Game of Thrones Season 2 poster — War Is ComingGame of Thrones starts this weekend; are you ready?

Remember the first time those two crazy lovebirds were caught in the act? Good times, good times. Sure, they just happen to be twin brother and sister and but we all know the lengths that Jamie will go for the love of his sister, Cersei. We were also there for THE shaving scene that happened to involve a certain Royal brother and a knight who is handy with more than just HIS sword. We even all cried together when it came to how stupid Ned Stark really could be.

Sunday, we will start to see the aftermath of Season 1—what happens with the newly crowed King of the North, Robb Stark? Will Sansa manage to grow a backbone at least as half as big as her sister’s? We might also get to see how all these new characters that are being added to the mix play out.

So be sure and check back with Heroes and Heartbreakers every Monday morning as we follow the all the gender-spanning appeal of Game of Thrones. Just think of Heroes and Heartbreakers as your weekly squab…turkey leg…whatever it is that they eat for breakfast in Westeros.

What are you looking forward to in Season 2?

I wasn't waiting with bated breath or anything for the new season, but as it gets closer, I'm growing more excited. The trailers look really good.

As for what I'm most looking forward to... I should preface this by saying I didn't like Sansa that much in the first book and was thus surprised to find that I liked her a lot in the first season of the show. I think I just understood her more as she was written/acted on the show. Anyway, so I might actually be looking forward to her arc the most this year because I do think she'll start to come into her own a bit more and maybe rebel in little ways that nonetheless takes a lot of strength when you're under as much scrutiny as she is.

Why do I always find myself rooting for the characters everyone else finds so unlikeable, Chris?!

You like an underdog? But really, the girl is an irredemable snot, much like her mom... I am really looking forward to seeing Sam come into his own, and to see how they handle Gilly and his interactions.

@cmorgan -- But she's not even an underdog; like you said, people just think she's awful. Huh.

Remind me who Gilly is?

I like Jon Snow a lot too. And Tyrion. I don't think I will ever care for Catelyn Stark.

Gilly is Craster's daughter/wife. The Night's Watch meets her and Craster on the Range beyond the Wall. She keeps the animals for Craster up until Ghost eats most of them...

Tyrion and Jamie - because they are realists.

The Dragon Queen (sorry, can't remember her name) and what she does next with 3 dragons.

I haven't read the series so I don't know what's coming which is just as fun but also painful (Ned Stark was so not bright) and I have no clue what the NightWatch is for or why there is a huge wall but I'm guessing that all coming.

CindyS (I'm on my 3rd Captcha - wonder when the system finally decides I'm just not worth it)

I am ready to see the end of a hopefully short-lived reign of a certain snotty King.....
