Game of Thrones Season 2 Returns April 1, 2012!

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister

Just announced! The second season of Game of Thrones will premiere on HBO on April 1, 2012, at 9pm. We will offer recaps, as we did of Season 1.

Now that Ned Stark is gone, who will step up to be the next iteration of Stupid Ned Stark? We can think of a few potential candidates; for example, Sansa, are you sure your betrothed actually cares for you, and isn’t just the crazy byproduct of an incestuous union who might be secretly psychotic? Just sayin’.

Are you watching? Did you read the books? Which character are you looking forward to seeing again the most?

I can't wait for the Game of Thrones to come back on; it's one of my all time favorite series. I have been reading it since the late 1990's and never imagined that it would be a series some day - and wow, the first season was amazing. I have read that Season 2 will incoroporate some elements of books 2 and 3, which will be interesting to see.

Oh, and Jaime Lannister is hot, which doesn't hurt either!

@krismas29: Yes, what you said! I haven't been reading the series as long as you, but I got enthralled before news of the show was announced, so yeah, am so excited they seem to be doing it relatively well, given the scope and size of the characters and events. SO EXCITED!

I'm quite vocal about my appreciation for the half-man, but got to say incredibly excited about the introduction of Davos and Brienne, love both of those characters and their arcs.

Hate that we have to wait til spring. Really hoping somebody offs those pale haired throne stealing incestuous bastard Lannisters. But not Tyrion. We like him.

I'm so excited that it's premiering two weeks earlier than anticipated (also not coinciding with the weekend in which I will frantically be doing my complicated taxes!)

And Peter Dinklage has another statue for his role as Tyrion so they can add that to the promos!
