For the Love of...Jane Eyre and Vampires!

Jane Eyre...and Vampires?

Director Jim Jarmusch is set to direct a vampire film starring previous Jane Eyre co-stars Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska (as well as Tilda Swinton). Jarmusch describes the film himself as a “crypto-vampire love story,” whatever that means.

All we know is that once again we'll get to see Fassbender and Wasikowska on screen together again. Le sigh.

I am reading Sherri Erwin's book, Jane Slayre, right now...it's a mash-up of Jane Eyre with zombies, vampires, werewolves, etc. I must say, I am heartily enjoying the mix of horror with a classic romance. The humor is excellent, and it's great to see Jane empowered as a slayer. Can't wait to see this movie!

Will you be a lover or a fighter? -- John Adams to Thomas Jefferson in 1776
A lover -- Thomas Jefferson to John Adams.
No -- JA
But I burn, Mr. A! --TJ
So do I, Mr. J. -- JA
You? -- TJ
You do? -- interested observer
John, who'd have thought it! -- another interested observer

I can only hope that Mia and Michael do more loving than fighting. Such a shame to put so much masculine beauty to waste.

We had been wandering, indeed, in the leafless shrubbery an hour in the morning; but since dinner (Mrs. Reed, when there was no company, dined early) the cold winter wind had brought with it clouds so sombre, and a rain so penetrating, that further out-door exercise was now out of the question.

I was glad of it: In addition to the foul stench of burning flesh I never liked long walks,...'
