For The Love Of . . . Stalking?!?

So there's this new app—appropriately called Breakup Notifier—that will notify you when someone on Facebook changes their relationship status, if you've set up an alert for that person.

Think about it for a moment: a website will monitor someone's relationship status so you know when it's safe to approach them.

Doesn't that sound . . . stalky? I mean, if you're not close enough to the person to know in real life that they're out of a relationship, why in hell would you ever think that getting an email about their status would possibly mean you have a chance with them?

It's feeling a little too Single White Female up in here.

There are sooo many people I want to follow more closely now. Thanks for the heads up. Sike.

After all this "app" business wouldn't be just as easy to look on the left side of someone's FB page? Really.

Last week the Vatican dissed a confession app.

I just don't get apps.

Or you could use it to find out if your significant other has a change of heart (or has decided to fool around on the side). Like a little advance warning. I learn about most of the major events in my family through Facebook. This will make it so much easier for them to tell me to get lost.

This made me laugh out loud. My daughter's entire friend base had a crisis when one member of the 'class couple' changed their status to single. They were burning up Facebook asking, why? why? why?

You'll all be happy to know the couple got back together. Nothing like middle-school love. :)

Eeek! I am so glad there was no Facebook when I was in middle school. :) And yes that sounds--stalkery to me

Thinking of writing a Country song about this. Here's a brief start:

She let some information slip
about her new relationship.
For following her status
is all that really matters.

We were only messing around,
for true love can't be found
on the re-, the re-bound.

@Philipp: That song would go over really well at the karaoke bars.
