Kian in Tracy Wolff’s Royal Pain Goes from Playboy Rake to True Royal

Royal Pain by Tracy Wolff

What is it about royalty? We—or at least I am always a sucker for royalty romance. Maybe it’s because I can think maybe something like that might happen to me? Hey, it happened to the princess of Denmark who famously met the crown prince at a bar in Sydney, Australia. She was a commoner, too. Though of course, don’t worry. Even if I were to be picked up in a bar, I’d remain true. But I digress…

Royal Pain by Tracy Wolff features the “spare” of the Wildemar throne who is a twin. Kian falls in love with Savannah Breslin just when his twin is kidnapped. Yup. And what’s more, Savvy has a history with the heir. It makes for an interesting reunion after they finally extract Garrett (the heir) from kidnappers. Just what their history is, you’ll have to read to find out.

The story is sound, and as we leave summer, this is a fantastic beach read. I wanted to know about Savannah and how the two twins reconcile their relationship. And I can’t wait for Garratt’s story. But now it’s Kian’s. And I love his transformation from playboy rake to responsible twin. He’s layered and real. And provides just enough reality to make him believable. We are able to sympathize with him by the end. He is made to be a real person.

7 Books to Read if You Love The Fast and the Furious Movies

Ex-Con by Katana Collins

It comes as no surprise that, after eight movies, the cultural influence of The Fast and the Furious film franchise should permeate the hallowed walls of Romancelandia. With stars like Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Tyrese Gibson, it's no wonder that we fell for these anti-heroes. The world of the Fast and the Furious offered us strong women, too, who challenged these men—and thus our little shipper heart's were sealed forever to this crew. However, the franchise is winding to a close (Maybe? Who knows at this point!) and so romance is the place we must turn to to get our fix!

In my head, Katana Collins' Harrison Street Crew are The Fast and the Furious guys. Ex-Con introduces us to this crew as ex-convict Shane McGill is released from prison and finds himself pulled back into the car club that he wants nothing to do with. As the prologue says, Shane wasn't part of the crew when he went into jail, but he's part of it once he's behind bars. This is a pretty dark read and handles some intense—even triggering—material, so it's not for everyone, but the writing is stellar and the sex is on fire.

Enter Miles Girard,Tori’s best friend’s older brother. Tori still can’t forgive him for his role in hurting Chloe. Even though Miles sincerely didn’t know how his actions hurt his sister, and even though Chloe and Ethan have forgiven Miles, Tori still can’t.

First Look: Tracy Wolff’s Exposed (May 5, 2015)

Exposed by Tracy Wolff

Tracy Wolff
Exposed (Ethan Frost #3)
Random House / May 5, 2015 / $4.99 digital

Ethan Frost, the irresistible leading man from the New York Times bestselling Ruined and Addicted, returns once again in Exposed—a novel that’s perfect for fans of J. Kenner and Sylvia Day.
 ***
Will Ethan Frost go too far for the woman he loves?

The moment Chloe Girard walked into my life, she exposed secrets and emotions I always thought were best kept buried.

She wants to move on, to ignore the past. But I can’t do that. Not when she still suffers. And not when the man who hurt her remains unscathed. So when I discover the perfect opportunity to make him pay for what he did to Chloe, I can’t walk away, no matter the consequences.

But there’s a fine line between justice and obsession. As I turn up old crimes and new lies, I know that I’m playing with fire—and risking the very foundations of our relationship.

My love for Chloe is absolute. I just hope it’s enough to save us both.

Exposed is the third book in Tracy Wolff’s Ethan Frost series and it has all the ingredients that make the first two books so addicting: a humanitarian, sexy, wealthy alpha male; a courageous and intelligent heroine; conflict from the past that infiltrates the present; a sticky web of interrelationships; and steamy scenes. But even more than that, what I crave is growth in a relationship. I am pleased to say that Exposed did not let me down in this regard.

[Sometimes you have to stumble before it's perfect...]

Serious Fun: Tracy Wolff’s Play Me Series

Play Me by Tracy Wolff

This five part series is a little different from my usual romance fare. Not to say I’ve not indulged in my fair share of BDSM novels, as I have, but that subgenre is not one I actively read often. After reading this series, I think that is something that I will have to change going forward. I very much enjoyed the Play Me series. This is my first time having read a Tracy Wolff book and it certainly will not be the last time I read anything by her.

The heroine has moxie! Aria Winston is a Vassar graduate in a thankless cocktail waitressing job in a Las Vegas casino that includes many leches and more than a little bit of sexual harassment. She is tough and the reader sees early on that she’s is the type of woman who will step-in to defend someone weaker. I loved the introduction to her character as the author puts the reader right in Aria’s head and plays out a situation that makes it easy to appreciate her.

When we first meet him, Sebastian Caine is harried and slightly resentful. He's back in the city he grew up in, but not because he really wants to be there—he's returned to run the family casino because his father’s health problems make it impossible for him to manage the business anymore. It’s not something Sebastian's happy about but regardless of his feelings, he is dedicated to making sure the casino runs smoothly and with some class.

[But smoothly and with class is never fun...]

Play Me: Exclusive Excerpt

Tracy Wolff

Play Me: Wild by Tracy Wolff

In Play Me 1: Wild the seductive first installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, a woman running from her past has finally found a bit of control . . . until her powerful new boss makes her go wild

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to make my own life, away from the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.

Working as a cocktail waitress at one of Vegas’s hottest five-star casinos means putting up with a ton of bad behavior from the big spenders. But it pays the bills—and that’s all that matters to Aria as she needs every last dollar to escape from her father’s destructive grasp and the brutal man he expects her to marry. But when she lashes out against a billionaire who won’t take no for an answer, she nearly loses everything—until  Sebastian steps in.  The  owner’s son and handpicked successor, Sebastian is dark, sexy and kinder than any rich, powerful man should be.  And when he apologizes and offers to keep her job safe, Aria can’t help the way her body reacts to his. But if the way her body instantly responds to his touch is any indication, what Aria really wants is Sebastian.  Suddenly her job, and the security it brings her, isn’t all that Aria wants …

Get a sneak peek of the first section of Tracy Wolff's Play Me serial with an exclusive excerpt of a selected scene from Play Me: Wild (all parts will be available December 2, 2014).

Sebastian

My dad is in no shape to smooth anything over and we both know it. A victim of a series of mini strokes in recent months, neither his speech nor his mental faculties are up for the job right now.  Especially after his latest incident.

Which is, of course, the main reason I’m here, trying to run a casino I have no interest in running, when I’d much rather be back in Boston acting as CFO of one of the largest children’s charities in the world.

Game Changers: Top 10 Hottest Jock Heroes

The Vincent Boys by Abbi GlinesSports romance books have been growing to include more than just the typical “jocks"; football, baseball, basketball have been pushed to the side for fighters, hockey players, and even race car drivers. Jocks are always an enjoyable read. It’s like having water after a really long, hot day. I look for cover inspiration, humor, general badassery, and charisma in my jocks.

Here's the list of Hot Jocks:

1. Beau Vincent, of Abbi Glines's New Adult book The Vincent Boys, set my heart jogging as the misunderstood bad boy in his small town. It’s the South, so everyone plays football—even Beau. Good enough to be offered a scholarship for college ball, Beau is one sexy, bad boy who wins the heart of the town “good girl.” She also happens to be his cousin’s girlfriend. Played out among their high school walls, Beau is the perfect blend of bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks with a sweet side.

New Adult Roundup for March 2014: Variety Is the Spice

Fierce by Nina LevineThis month, the burgeoning new adult genre continues to expand. The best seller lists possess more variety, as new adult authors mix it up and cater to an increasingly diverse audience. As a result, readers can sample from a multiplicity of intriguing plot lines—from suspenseful to erotic to heartwarming.

First, there are the books that make your heart pound. They're filled to the brim with danger and suspense. It's not just a question of whether or not the main characters' love will survive but if they will survive. In One Day, which is the third and final installment in The Private Club series by J.S. Cooper and Helen Cooper, the heroine Meg works at a club owned by a wealthy, mysterious man named Greyson. Meg isn't sure that she can trust Greyson, and her worst fears seem to be confirmed when her roommate Nancy goes missing. Similarly, in Fierce by Nina Levine, an innocent country girl named Harlow falls for the vice president of a motorcycle club. Scott is a dangerous man with a checkered past, but when Harlow's life is suddenly in danger, he may be the only one who can save her. Finally, Unravel by Calia Read is a psychological thriller about a young woman named Naomi trapped in a psychiatric ward and told that she's crazy for believing that she has a lover named Max. Is she crazy, or is there a more sinister plot at work? Naomi's questionable reliability as a narrator kept readers enthralled and flipping pages.
