Frequently Asked Questions

What is Heroes and Heartbreakers?

Not everyone can understand the desire to argue for thirty minutes about Dain vs. Derek, to challenge the casting for the latest Jane Austen movie, or to debate whether the True Blood love triangle worked better on paper or on TV, and that's why we're here. You can read more about us here.

I entered a sweepstakes, what now?

First off, way to go! Everyone here at Heroes and Heartbreakers loves giving away some of the cool swag we get, be it new releases, Advanced Reader copies, special editions, audiobooks, or whole conference swag bags. In the event that you win, a member of the team will reach out to you from our info [at] heroesandheartbreakers [dot] com address notifying you. Depending on the nature of the sweepstakes we will probably ask you for more information, most likely it will be asking for a  mailing address and/or to confirm whether or not you'd like to claim the prize. After that just gives us 4-6 weeks for delivery. If you don't see the prize within that time, feel free to email us following up. It never hurts to ask questions, and we love getting email from you guys.

For publishers and writers:

When should I submit my book for review or for consideration for an excerpt?

Excerpts
Because of limited space, we ask that all excerpt requests be submitted at least two to three months prior to publication for consideration. However that timing is subject to change depending on the time of year and availability.

First Looks
In order to best place a book with a blogger and give them enough time to read and review the book, we ask for one month to six weeks prior to publication.

To be considered for coverage on the site, please email us at info AT heroesandheartbreakers DOT com for first looks; for excerpt, please email us at excerpts AT heroesandheartbreakers DOT com.

How should I contact you if I want to get my book covered on Heroes and Heartbreakers?

To be considered for coverage on the site, please email us at info AT heroesandheartbreakers DOT com for first looks; for excerpt, please email us at excerpts AT heroesandheartbreakers DOT com. Our submissions email is NOT how you should contact us for coverage on the site, that email is strictly for fiction submissions.

Is there a cost for having my book reviewed or excerpted?

No! There are no fees attached to editorial coverage on the site.

Can I advertise with Heroes and Heartbreakers?
