Does Anyone in Your Family Read Romance?

Women talking over dinner

You may be spending this week arguing with family over longheld recipes, but I hope for you that you spend at least a little of it talking about books and things you love with them! In the United States, we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving this week and one thing many of you may be thankful for is the number of people in your family who read romance.

So....does anyone in your family read romance? Will chatter at the Thanksgiving table include book talk? Will you be spending part of the holiday week comparing what you're reading and loving? Was this family member the one who got you hooked on romance to start with?

Tell me about it in the comments!

My older sister reads romance and so does one of my cousins. In fact, it is the cousin who first introduced me to what we traditionally call romance novels. My mom reads Inspirational romance as well as romantic classics like Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility etc.

My sister-in-law asked for a recommendation earlier this year and I gave her a few recommendations, but other than that my cousin is the only one who actively reads romances on her own. Though I did find one of my romances on my mom's nightstand when I came home on break once in college so I know she has it in her ;)

My sister-in-law is the only family member who also reads romances. She's always delighted with the bag of books I give her for Christmas and her birthday.

I have an uncle and aunt who read romantic suspense but we won't be sharing a holiday table this year.

My husband's family reads horror/murder/bloody books, except for my husband the history reader, so we rarely talk books. My sister-in-law will be reading something gory while I read Will's True Wish by Grace Burrowes during her visit this holiday weekend.

I started reading romance when my sister handed me my first Barbara Cartland novel. And now my daughter routinely steals all my romance novels to read herself!
