How Do You Revel in Your Obsessions?

Mindy and Danny in The Mindy Project

Here in H&H HQ, Kresley Cole fangirl Jenn Proffitt has been obsessing over the upcoming release of Dark Skye. Heather Waters has been known to spend a few hours reading Mindy and Danny (from The Mindy Project) fanfic, while Megan can't pass up Anne Stuart titles as they're digitally published, even though she owns ALL of Stuart's books in print.

We've all done obsessive above and beyond the norm things in the name of fandom; how do you revel in your obsessions?

I resemble that comment! Look, Dandy (come on, they even have a great 'ship name!) is the greatest and frankly I'm not sure why we do anything BUT revel in them all day, every day. ;)

Anyway, in addition to fic, I also love wasting time watching fan videos for all my 'ships. I can track my fandom interests through the years via my YouTube Favorites playlist, which is fun.

I find equally obessed people and fangirl with them! They understand. :P

My lastest obsession is Cherik - X and Magneto fanfics. They are meant to be. ;)

My obsessions are reading and chocolate. I revel in them both frequently, often at the same time.

When I find a food I love, I have to have it often until I'm sick of it. Books or TV, I dive down the rabbit hole of glomming and binge watching with little to no sleep for days, sometimes weeks. I tell myself things like "you need to sleep" and "it'll be there tomorrow" but all is usually trumped by "just one more..." And then there was the time I dealt with my obsession by writing thousands and thousands of words about them and eventually meeting them in person...repeatedly... O_0

Cyberstalking for info is totally appropriate, right? My other obsession is Tom Hiddleston, so I've watched ALL of his video interviews, been to the live broadcast of Coriolanus, etc., etc.. For Kresley Cole, it's pretty much about reading and re-reading her books. However, if you at all bring her up as the subject of conversation I WILL dominate that conversation and talk to you about it way longer than you expected when you first said "I'm almost done with Macrieve and I liked it..."

I've gone through passions and obsessions. I move on to something else when I hit what I consider the "end." Pirates, the War of 1812, herbal gardens, cookie baking, "retro" recipes, Keanu Reeves, Sim City, the list goes on.

Probably my worst obsession was The Office. I think I annoyed my friends, family, co-workers, and possibly some folks on forum boards, over the years. We had cake for Jim and Pam's wedding and I still play the Christmas episodes while doing holiday stuff. My devotion to The Mindy Project is an extension as Mindy Kaling wrote some of the best episodes.

My current obsession is my Kindle. I am always looking for books and keeping the right balance of TBR, wish lists and reading material on my little friend. Which is why I am here. :)

Oh, I welcome my obsessions with open arms. If I'm not obsessing about a book, tv show/film then I know I don't really like them. For me it's all or nothing. In fact, if I'm not obsessing about something that's when I get worried. Without them I wouldn't have found all my favourite books and this amazing site(which fuels my obsessions; thank you!) In the last few years my top obsessions have been every great tv show going and the authors that have turned me into a happy hermit have been, Kresley Cole( God, I love, Bowen MacRieve), Lisa Kleypas, Lorelei James, Jeaniene Frost, J.R Ward, Diana Gabaldon( this obsession has gotten out of control( went to Scotland a couple of months ago with my friend and ended up going to castle Doune/castle Leoch), Cherrie Lynn, Karin Slaughter, Linda Howard..and the list goes on and on.

lol I am the classic version of obsession because I will let it get in the way of stuff I SHOULD be doing. I have had so many throughout the years. Like redline said- I can trace my ship obessions by looking at my you tube videos! I also tend to read fanfiction if I really am into it though not every ship gets this far lol. Some of my favorites that I just HAD to read the fanfiction for in the past are: Mindy and Danny, Daryl and Carol, and currently I am into Charlie and Bass from Revolution. I get hooked on TV and have been known to watch entire seasons and series in a matter of days.
Books are much the same for me. If I find a new series I like then I devour each and every book until I am finished... sacrificing sleep usually! JR Ward, Jeaninene Frost, Lisa Kleypas, Slyvia Day, Larissa Ione, etc.

Speaking of obsessions--found out yesterday that The Mindy Project returns on September 16, woo-hoo! Fellow fans, rejoice!

@TerriL -- You have TERRIFIC taste in TV couples. ;) I didn't catch up fully on Revolution but I was very intrigued by Charlie and Bass (I've seen some awesome fan vids of them), and I enjoy the chemistry between TWD's Daryl and Carol, too.
