Vampire Zoltan Czakvar is on the hunt for the truth about his father's death. He's been searching for a very long time—since 1241, in fact. And he is not about to give up, even when he's attacked by a woman with striking blue eyes and a hell of a right hook!

Neona is also on the hunt. She's looking for a mate and she thinks muscled Zoltan will work just fine. After all, men are good for only one thing. Soon, though, she realizes there's more to this handsome vampire than just sexual prowess. But she's keeping a secret from Zoltan, something so big that it will rock the vampire world.

Can their newfound love survive . . . even if their passion means the destruction of her world?

In Kerrelyn Sparks’s latest Love At Stake novel, How to Seduce a Vampire (Without Really Trying), we finally get a closer look at the elusive Coven Master of Europe, Zoltan Czakvar.

After over eight hundred years of being a vampire, with most of that as Coven Master, Zoltan's life has become routine; meetings and castle tours, the same schedule each week. Growing up in Transylvania, Zoltan always knew about vampires, but an endless life as a vampire wasn’t something Zoltan truly desired. Zoltan became a vampire so that he would have the enough time to avenge his father’s death. Unfortunately, since his father died in 1241, Zoltan is starting to believe he will never find out who shot the arrow that took his father’s life.

When Russell returns from Asia with an arrow with the same intricate design as the one Zoltan has on his wall, his life’s purpose is rejuvenated. If only he could get Russell to tell him where he has been. Russell refuses to tell Zoltan because the people who gave him the arrow saved Russell’s life and in return he promised to protect their secret.

“Dammit, Russell!” Zoltan clutched the arrow tightly. “It’s because of an arrow like this that I became a vampire. I couldn’t stand the thought of dying without knowing what happened. I had to stay young and healthy to keep searching for the truth. I gave up my mortality for this, so tell me where you found the damned arrow!”

A pained look crossed Russell’s face. “Fine. Two weeks ago, I was following Lord Liao and a troop of soldiers when they were attacked by a smaller force. I figured the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and they were taking some heavy casualties, so I helped them. We killed most of Lord Liao’s soldiers, but of course, he teleported away. I was wounded and fell unconscious. I would have died when the sun came up, but they saved me.”

“Who are they?”

Russell groaned. “The only thing they asked for in return was that I not tell anyone who they are and where they live. I’m sorry. I really do appreciate all you’ve done, but I can’t say anything more.”

After hundreds of years of dead ends, Zoltan will not be thwarted and he teleports after Russell to find himself in Tibet, half a world away from Zoltan’s home in Transylvania.

Tibet. Did the people who had killed his father travel all the way from Tibet? When he’d searched from them centuries ago, he’d covered Eastern Europe, western Russia, and the Middle East. Finally, in the northwestern part of India, he’d given up, unable to believe that anyone would travel that far to kill someone in Transylvania.

His renewed search is bringing even more questions than answers. The markings on Zoltan’s arrow looks like ancient Greek, but had the ancient Greeks ever passed through Tibet? He finally locates a small village in a hidden valley in the Himalayas. A village which belongs to a group of warrior women who are protecting a very big secret. Actually, they are hiding several big secrets, including one which might just answer the question of where Zoltan gets his ability to speak to animals, just like his mother could.

As he tries to observe the warrior women, he is captured by a lovely woman who desperately wants to use him…as a stud. Any man would be happy to be forced to be of service to such a beautiful woman, but if she becomes pregnant, his usefulness would be over and they’ll kill him to protect their secrets. So it is a good thing or a bad thing that as a vampire his sperm is dead? How long will they allow him to live if he isn’t performing adequately?

You might as well enjoy yourself while you can, the leopard grumbled. Since you don’t have long to live.

Zoltan glanced up at the cat. What do you mean?

She’s going to kill you when she’s done.

He flinched. You’re lying!

She told me herself. The leopard licked a paw. Once she’s done with you, you’re out with the garbage.

A chill ran down Zoltan’s spine. Could this be true? Was Neoma intending to kill him? His mind tensed, rejecting the thought. He couldn’t believe it. He wouldn’t.

And yet hadn’t she tried to kill him from the start? Was she so heartless that she could have sex with a man and then execute him?

There is quite a lot being hidden in this tiny valley and Zoltan will need to escape if he plans on learning anything further—but even with so much at stake (so to speak), he can't quite tear himself away from the woman who's captured him, even though it is delaying his long-lasting quest for revenge.
