You Know You’re a Romance Reader When...

Thrown for a Curve by Sugar JamisonToday we're joined by Sugar Jamison, whose latest release, Thrown for a Curve, is the newest in her Perfect Fit series, featuring plus-sized heroines whose heroes think they're perfect the way they are. As well as being an author, Sugar is also an avid romance novel reader, and she's here to share the signs you're a romance reader. Thanks, Sugar!

I have a confession. I can't remember the last non-romance book I've read. I see all those legal thrillers in the bookstore, those emotional family sagas, and funny autobiographies, but I just can't bring myself to pick them up. I need love in my stories. And sex. And books with half-naked men on the covers. I am Sugar and I am a proud romance reader. Are you? Keep reading to find out.

That little crying Olsen girl gif is just PERFECT. I admit to getting a little sad when there's no manchest on the cover (I'm reading a mystery right now, which is always a little hard to adjust to).

My first thought when I read this was: What other type of "member" is there? Then my brain clicked out of hanky-panky land and I realized you can be a MEMBER of something without HAVING a member. Yeah, not firing on all synapes and/or been reading romance too long (p.s. that's not a thing).

Yep, this fits me to a T. Great list! I'd also add something about how other people don't get your love of romance but you don't even care (and try to convert them at every opportunity).

@redline I don't understand how people don't love romance novels! I'm trying to convert my mother.

I will read other genres occasionally...mostly non-fiction, since I'm really into cultural anthropology--I love to investigate why people act the way they do.
I'll sometimes read a vampire series, but long since gave up on Ann Rice since her vampires are "neuters", and I mean, really, what's the point of eternal life if you can't have sex anymore? Sheesh!
And once in a while, a YA series will interest me briefly...but I always return to my first love! And I only WRITE romance. The stories my brain feeds me always involve sexy women, sexier men, and HEA!
