How Soon is Too Soon for the First Consummation?

Recently we asked When Do You Want the First Kiss? in a romance novel, which prompted Jenn Proffitt to wonder when the first consummation scene should occur, and if some books have it before the reader (not to mention the hero and heroine) is ready.

What's the earliest consummation scene you've encountered in a book, and do you think some early all-the-way scenes are too early?

The hero and heroine in Larissa Ione's Pleasure Unbound (Demonica #1) have sex almost immediately. Like in the first few pages. Only it isn't exactly intentional. There's a big enemies-to-lovers element here and this is part of that catalyst. (It made my top 5 paranormal sex scenes post for H&H, if you're wanting a taste.)

Jayne Ann Krentz had a book (back in the '80s) start out with the hero and heroine post coitus and the heroine starting to plan the wedding. I think it was Twist of Fate.
