**This post contains spoilers for all aired episodes of Sleepy Hollow, including last night’s episode, 1x08, “Necromancer.”**
Well, there is not too much in regards to any Shipping News between Abbie and Ichy. Not as much as I’d like anyway. They were far too busy trying to keep that demon without a head, aka, the Headless Horseman, trapped in the basement of their secret layer. That said, the opening scene has a tender Ichabbie moment: elated over the capture of said headless menace, Abbie teaches Ichabod the fist tap. He grins in that way only he can and she returns with that smile that’s almost a giggle. Funny, they only do that in each other’s presence. Sigh…
In other places, Irving and Jenny team up to stop those endless supply of minions from cutting the power to what’s keeping NoHead from escaping, the ultraviolet lights. Was it me or were there some sparks between Irving and Jenny? Wishful thinking, maybe, or perhaps it’s withdrawal from the lack of shipping this week with Ichabbie. I’m not sure, but I sense something may happen there. Skeptic Captain and Certifiable Sister? Could be one hell of a couple.
Katrina played a big part is this week’s episode. Apparently she was betrothed to Ichabod’s BFF but called it off because she loved Ichy. Ichabod and said BFF Abraham are sent on a mission when poor Abraham finds out it is Ichabod Katrina loves. I mean really, Ichy, you felt the need to confess while on a mission? I’m all for honor and truth and all but your timing sucks! It led to a duel but some of those demony Redcoats showed up and shot Abraham. Ichy had to leave to finish the mission. He left his buddy to die at the hands of the enemy. Buzz kill.
Back in the present, Ichy is trying to interrogate NoHead before he comes to full strength. Yeah, because the power has been cut. Then Ichabod learns NoHead is Abraham! What the what is right! I didn’t see this one coming. While Abraham lay dying he sold his soul to fight for evil for the sole purpose to seek revenge on Ichabod and resurrect Katrina from purgatory and make her his forever! (Insert maniacal villain laugh here.)
At the end, Ichabod and Abbie are at their table in the library sitting by candlelight. Pondering the loss of NoHead—yeah, he got away. Lights flicker on and Ichabod mentions he prefers candlelight. Abbie says something like it does add to a certain mood. They both smile again. Ahh, some shipping satisfaction! But it doesn’t last long. They realize they must find a way to get to Katrina before NoHead. Something neither of them seems to be okay with, for many reasons.
We got a fist tap, an acknowledgement of enjoying candlelight, and not looking forward to finding dead wife in limbo. Shipping ain’t easy!
