Poll: Who is Your Favorite Regency Romance Writer?

Recently, our 10 Regency Romances You Should Read sparked a conversation about what actually defines a Regency. The question would seem pretty straight forward but then you have authors like Jane Austen, whose Pride and Prejudice sparked many a modern Regency romance, but at the time of publication would have been contemporary women's fiction. Since then, there have been countless authors to follow in her footsteps, including Georgette Heyer, who is considered the mother of the “modern” Regency. With so many to choose from, we want to know: who is your favorite regency writer?

How do you define a Regency Romance?

How can I say just one author defines the broad genre of Regency romance? I have to talk about favorite authorS, and even then, individual works have to be taken into account. I don't know how to answer your question ...

Hmmm--favorites? Well Georgette Heyer, of course. Joan Wolfe (whom you didn't even list--boo!!hiss!!! Really--most of the trad regency writers for the old Signet line...) Clare Darcy! Patricia Veryan (though she's more Georgian than Regency)!! Diana Brown!!
Otherwise, Carla Kelly for the win.
