Jim C. Hines's Libriomancer has an interesting premise: Libriomancers “are gifted with the ability to magically reach into books and draw forth objects.”
During the course of the book, objects are drawn from such books as C.S. Lewis's The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Robin McKinley's Beauty, and Homer's Odyssey.
(And although it's not a romance, Libriomancer has many romantic elements, including a sort of HEA).
But let's imagine for a moment you were a libriomancer and could withdraw objects from some of your favorite books—what would you take? A quick Twitter poll suggested Mac's pink lipstick from the Fever series, Bones's duster, Alexia Tarabotti's parasol, Sookie's white sundress, Eve Dallas's diamond pendant (a gift from Roarke), Acheron's medallion, Roarke's button, the bull from Laura Kinsale's Lessons in French, Claire's wedding rings in the Outlander series, and Kate Daniels's sword (and there were more object suggestions coming in at press time!)
What object from romance novels would you like to own?
