After LOTS of speculation and anticipation, the role of Anastasia Steele in the forthcoming film adaptation of E.L. James's Fifty Shades of Grey has—according to Deadline Hollywood with the exclusive reveal—gone to actress Dakota Johnson.
Johnson, the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, previously starred in TV show Ben and Kate as well as the movies The Social Network and 21 Jump Street.
Now we know who will play Ana, but another big question remains—who will portray Christian Grey? The latest rumor we've heard is that Charlie Hunnam of Sons of Anarchy could be cast as Christian,
but that has NOT YET BEEN CONFIRMED. We'll let you know as soon as we hear anything definitive. [Updated: Hunnam WILL be Christian!] Chemistry between the actors for a movie like this will be everything, so we have a feeling that director Sam Taylor-Johnson already has a pretty good idea of whose Christian she's planning to pair up with Dakota Johnson's Ana. Plus, the movie is due out August 1, 2014, so they'll need to start filming soon.
