The White Queen: Strong Women, War, and Romance

The White Queen (BBC One), an adaptation of Philippa Gregory’s best-selling trilogy of novels set around the Wars of the Roses, had a strong debut in the UK on BBC One over the weekend, a good sign for when the series debuts August 10 in the United States on the Starz network. The White Queen centers on Elizabeth Woodville, wife of the man who became England’s first Yorkist king, Edward IV.

A glimpse at the full trailer shows just why it's so appealing. Will you be watching? Could it perhaps help fill the void left by historical dramas The Borgias and (while it's on hiatus) Downton Abbey?

It seems like it, doesn't it? Plus the War of the Roses is clear inspiration for GoT, so this is real life reacting to fiction that was reacting to real life...
And now my head hurts.
But I did just price Starz to see about adding it to my cable package, so that's something.

@MFrampton, I'm pretty sure you just Inceptioned yourself. But this looks good, I'm in for a bit at least!
