Last month, Christopher Morgan wrote a post on Hiyao Miyazaki's stunning films. Now here's the trailer for From Up on Poppy Hill, from Miyazaki's company, Studio Ghibli, and directed by his son, Goro. From Up on Poppy Hill opens in North American theaters on March 15, 2013.

I think it goes without saying at this point that I'm in. The fact that it is post-war Japan is even more alluring. I remain skeptical though, I saw Goro's take on Le Guin in TALES FROM THE EARTH SEA, and he just wasn't his dad...

I am hoping Goro will be better with straight-up historical than he is with fantasy. This looks promising.
