Downton Abbey’s Mr. Pamuk Cast as Divergent’s Four!

Is he what you imagined as Four or can you only see him as Mr. Pamuk?Fans of Veronica Roth's Divergent have been waiting—and waiting—to hear who will be cast opposite Shailene Woodley in the film version of the dystopian YA series.

And now we know: it's Theo James, who played the unlucky in love Mr. Pamuk on the first season of Downton Abbey, and who was more recently the lead in Golden Boy, the CBS series. He's been on our periphery ever since his earlier BBC days when he was the lead in the paranormal show, Bedlam. Now we're happy to see him taking on another new lead role in Divergent.

The cast also includes Kate Winslet, Die Hard‘s Jai Courtney, Zoe Kravitz and Maggie Q.

Divergent is scheduled for release March 21, 2014.

Check out our other coverage of Veronica Roth and get caught up on the series before the movies release!

I am pretty excited. He looks a bit like what is pictured for Four and he's not one of the YA-movie/show faces, which is great. Best of all, he's not Alex Pettyfer, woo-hoo!

It only took ONE comment before someone said "he's not Alex Pettyfer." Someone commented on Twitter he seems way too old for Four. I didn't remember just how old Four was supposed to be.

@MFrampton -- Eh, actors are always playing characters younger than they are. Jason Behr was 29 or 30 when he was cast as a 16-year-old for the show Roswell back in the day. Kristen Bell was in her 20s when she played 17 yo Veronica Mars. Etc. etc. Looking young is the key. I think this guy will be fine. Four is 18, I believe, so a year or two older than Tris.

Yes! Not Pettyfer!
