Happy New Year! Happy New Book!

So—what was the first book you read in 2013?

Did you finish it yet? Did you love it? Is this the first time you've read a book by this author? What was the best and worst parts of it?

I checked out Megan Hart's "The Space Between Us" on my Kindle and finished it yesterday. It my first book by Hart (I think I saw a recommendation on here somewhere) and while it was good, it didn't blow me away or anything. I thought it was a bit predictable, but I would read something else by her.

Steel's Edge by Ilona Andrews - yes I'm a little behind but it was excellent! Great start for 2013 :-)

Vanity Fare by Megan Caldwell (see article from this blog). It's chicklit that is fun, light, and snarky...not a lot of steaminess, but I was ready for a palate cleanser. :)

For reasons I'm hard pressed to explain, I started The Duchess of Windsor: The Secret Life. The writing is rather pedestrian and replete with names of every character who ever interacted with the duke and duchess, but it's such an inherently fascinating story that I'm having a hard time not finishing it (which I have considered as I'm half way through and they're married and embarked on a really weird life).

Nauti Deceptions by Lora Leigh (it was due back to the library Jan 2). I think it was the first of hers I have read. I liked it over all, but thought it would have been better if I had read the previous books first. (which I usually do, but I put the wrong one on hold). I thought it was a little slow at the beginning but then picked up about midway through

I think it was Hunted and Consumed by Rebecca Zanetti. I'm reading my way through her series. :)

Relese Me by J. Kenner It was a good read. I can see where it is somewhat like Fifty and BtY. I don't like that there are 2 more books in the future and I have to wait for the ending.

Howl For It by Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden. Both authors are auto-buys for me and I had it on hold at the library but,Barnes & Noble had the e-book on sale for $6!!! Needless to say,I snatched it up right quick and I was not disappointed.
