British newspapers are reporting that Dan Stevens, who plays Matthew Crawley on Downton Abbey, will be leaving the show early in its recently announced fourth season. Stevens has been appearing on Broadway, and is apparently getting other offers due to Downton Abbey's success.

What will happen between Matthew and Mary? Will Downton Abbey's showrunner Julian Fellowes find another love interest for Mary?

Well, that's a bummer! I watched the recent PBS broadcast of Downton Abbey Revisited. It was a rehash of S1 and S3 and clips of S3. It talked about a wedding in S3 but didn't say anything else about who gets married. So, if it is Mary and Matthew getting married, then they will probably have some way to either kill him off or they divorce! Should be a very interesting season. Can't wait for January!
