You never forget your first fanger.

We've had so many from which to choose: Zsadist, Lestat, Lestat's buddy Louis, Dracula, Erik, Vlad, Wrath, Bones, Barnabas Collins, Rhage, Lothaire...the list goes on and on.

Whether it was on the screen or in the pages of a book, you never forget your first. So who was your first vampire?

Book wise: Ash Redfern from the Nightworld series by L. J. Smith... I had such a huge crush on him when I was 12!

TV/Film: Angel from Buffy, who still holds a very special place in my heart!

Of all the vampire films I've seen over the years, I have to say my favorite actor to portray Dracula was Frank Langella. He was so freakin' hot and sexy in that part.

TV: The Count from Sesame Street! :0)

Books: Lestat and then there was a very, very long drought. I read the Dresden Files but those vampires, other than Thomas, his half-brother, are not so pleasant. I believe Wrath would have been my first sexy vamp after Lestat.

I think the first vampire I was enthralled with was the Count St. Germain, from Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's series. The first book was Hotel Transylvania, and each book was set during a different historical time period. I loved these books. In fact, now I want to re-read them!

The first vampire that really made me see them as more than just blood sucking monsters was Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula. I saw that movie on tv when I was about twelve and it totally changedy view of vampires. It made quite the impression on my young, innocent self. He's still my favorite vampire, and my first real on screen crush.

I think my first bloodsucker was Jean-Claude (Anita Blake). He was my first, but not my favorite. Not even my favorite from that series either. I always had a thing for Asher.

Hmmm, my first vampire was Barlow from Stephen King's Salem's Lot. I remember I was seriously creeped with that Danny scene.... So, my first vampire was not by any means romance hero material, just your basic creature of the night.

Lestat was mine :) I read the Vampire Chronicles 8 years ago when I was 15. I loved the world so much I read past the trilogy and also her Mayfair Witches books. Sadly I didn't continue with vamps til Twilight, then Vampire Academy, and now so many more.

Oh, I guess Angel from Buffy would actually be my first. I started watching him when I was 8 or 9. My mom hated it lol.

This is boring, but it was Dracula. Dracula in all kinds of incarnations, but my first vampire novel was Bram Stoker's Dracula. After that I started with Anne Rice's boys, Louis and Lestat, then from there I can't even tell you who they all are :)

The vampire that really caught and kept my attention.. Book wise anyway.. Is Cian McKenna in Nora Roberts' Circle Trilogy.. The quintessential bad boy with a heart of gold .. He was an amazing character!.. In fact my son's name is Keeyan which is how you would phonetically pronounce Cian. :0)

I used to run home from school, hoping Barnabas Collins would be on Dark Shadows. Loved that show!

I have to say the first literary vampire I ever fell in love with was Ray Bradbury's Uncle Einar of the paranormal Elliott familiy. Of course, I'm not positive Uncle Einar was a vampire, but he had huge leathery wings and flew like a bat out of hell.

After that my vampire love was for Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's The Comte de St. Germaine. So tragic!

Lestat. My Dad read a lot of horror books in my teens, and I picked up Interview with a Vampire on a whim.

I know that I used to own The Vampire Diaries from the early 1990's, and I thought that Stefan and Damon were pretty hot stuff.

My first and last vampire was Dracula in Bram Stoker's book of the same name which I read my freshman year in college in a deserted dorm room. Don't ask me why. My first screen vampire was (yes, I'm old) Bela Lugosi. The only vampire I ever found vaguely attractive was Frank Langella's Dracula (don't ask me why).

My first movie vampire was Christopher Lee. My first TV vampire was Barnabus Collins. My first literary vampire was Lestat & Louis. My first campy vampire was William Marshall as Blacula.

When I was in about 6th or 7th grade I began reading L.J. Smith's Nightworld series, starting with Ash Redfern in Daughters of Darkness.

Sadly my first taste of vampires in any kind of major role was Twilight. But I moved directly on to the BDB series (my first romance novel!) and the Nighthuntress series, and I've been reading romance and vampires ever since!

Louie from Interview with the Vampire.
I was 12 when my mom took me to see it, which made it my first R-rated movie. I was hooked on vampires from then on!

The snippets I saw of Barnabas Collins scared the living **** out of me when I was a child. To this day, I don't dare watch that show.

The first vampire I fell in love with was Spike.

Reading? It was Edward Cullen but I never liked him. So my first vampire to love(and I continue loving) is Dimitri Belikov from Vampire Academy.

Wow, are we talking about the first vampire we've ever read about or seen on TV here? Or the first one we fell for?

The 1st vampire I've ever read about was in a children book I read at school : Jerry Piasecki's Teacher VIC Is a Vampire. Retrospectively, it was a rather lame read, but I was probably 6 or 7, so I didn't mind that much.
The 1st vampire I've read about and loved was... hum, well I didn't really fall in love with him (he's a rather sick vampire obviously), but he intrigued me and definitely made me want to read more and more and more about vampires : Poppy Z Brite's Zillah, from Lost Souls. He has crazy eyes, crazy hair, and he's violent and cruel and everything I thought made a good vampire. I was 11 or 12 maybe, and definitely hooked.

The 1st television vampire I saw was Catherine Deneuve in Tony Scott's The Hunger. I saw the movie on TV _ though I had been prohibited to watch it, given that I was around 8 or 9 _ and I didn't get the half of it, and the little I understood gave me the creeps.
The 1st tv vampire I had a crush on was Buffy' Spike, since the first time the tv show was aired in France in 1998, so I was 10.

You have his picture posted right there. Frank Langella's portrayal of Dracula is what first attracted me to vampires. I still remember, in the world before DVDs and DVRs, I would sneak out of my room at any hour of the night to watch it repeated on HBO. :)

First vampire book was Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice. First movie is hard for me to remember. Either Bram Stoker's Dracula or the Lost Boys. I haven't found a vampire TV show that I've really liked.
