Which Book Drew First (Paranormal Romance) Blood?

We're celebrating the 13 Days of Halloween, so we're spotlighting things that go bump (and grind!) in the night.

You might have read books with some supernatural or paranormal elements that intrigued you, but didn't convert you. And then came a book—that book—that made you realize that you really love this genre, and would seek it out in a never-ending thirst for vampires, werewolves, demons, witches, and the like.

For paranormal romance readers, which book sealed your fate as a paranormal romance fan?

For me it was Christine Feehan's Dark Symphony. Of course then i had to backtrack and find the first 9 books to find out who all these wonderful characters were.

It was Laurell K. Hamilton's Guilty Pleasures for me. I fell in love with Anita and couldn't get enough of her. I love the whole paranormal world!

I've long loved paranormal fiction, but didn't really spend a lot of time in the romance aisles until J.R. Ward's Dark Lover. I believe the next day I went on a PNR-book-buying binge. Not only is BDB like crack, as we've discussed before here at H&H, but it's a gateway drug to the super sexy PNR.

For me it was either Dark Prince by Christine Feehan or Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward. I can't remember which one I read first.

I picked up the first book of Kerrelyn Spark's Love at Stake series and Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. They are so different from each other, but I loved them both and zipped through both of those series and since then I have been absorbed in all the different worlds of vampires, weres, witches, guardians, protectors and anything that can be imagined.

I was lured into the paranormal universe by Laurell K. Hamilton's Guilty Pleasures from the Anita Blake series. After that I went on a binge and started consumming everything UF I could get my hands on.

I don;t remeber if I read Dark Prince by Christine Feehan or FANTASY LOVER by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Both started me on the whole
paranormal genre.

I honestly think mine was Sunshine! I'm a HUGE Robin McKinley fan, and read The Blue Sword when I was in middle school. I think I picked up Sunshine in early high school, and it was the first book I read that was even a little bit sexually explicit. That scene where they have sex on the roof... yeah, I'm really hoping that happens to me in real life at some point!

This was not my genre at all ... key words are was and not. The Frozen, by Michel Prince grabbed me and never let me go. I am out searching for another book that I can't put down. I will try Robin McKinley first. Thanx for the help
