Maggie Smith to Leave Downton Abbey Season 3?

Nooo! Say it isn’t so, Dame Maggie! The Daily Mail reports that Maggie Smith has supposedly asked Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes to write her out of Downton Abbey Season 3. There had been earlier rumors of a major character dying—no more Dowager Countess?!?

This morning on my Twitter feed: "@DowntonAbbey Close We do not comment on future story lines, however there is no truth in the story that Maggie Smith is leaving the show."

Yeah, it was not true according to the producers of the show. The Daily Mail seems to get things wrong a lot. They also say Samantha Bond (Rosamund) was leaving and she isn't either. She released a statement saying they totally twisted her words. They also twisted Elizabeth McGovern's words that she didn't like S2. Apparently, she never said them. Dan Stevens has signed on to do a movie that may conflict with S4 filming though. Hopefully, it won't!
