Friday Beefcake: Cristiano Ronaldo for Armani

His dreams of winning the European Cup this year may have been dashed after his missed penalty shot this week, but Real Madrid football/soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo is still aces in our book. He certainly makes for prime Friday Beefcake, as this Armani photo shoot illustrates beautifully. We’d volunteer to comfort him in a second...

Well, I'm a major football fan (I refuse to call it soccer!). As much as Ronaldo looks hot in Armani, I'm still ticked off that he missed penalty on semi-final match of UEFA Championship League against Bayern. It was easy-to-read-my-mother-could-have-kicked-better penalty kick. Not in milion years could I predictated this years final two teams, but they deserved it. Oh, how the mighty have fallen...

@LegeArtis: Totally agree about the PK and then Kaka missing his, too! Bayern was not the better team but it was a great game to watch. Two teams in the finals that no one expected. Chelsea's tie in stoppage was phenomenol.

Back to the bod....those abs....oh yeah!

@njoireading - Yay, fellow football fan and book lover!:) That shoot out was like RM train wreck. All the goal-getters (Ronaldo, Kaka, Ramos) have missed, unbelieveable... I'll be in Munich, watching finals live. Can't wait...;)

To add to some of this guy's sex appeal, I read on Yahoo News this afternoon that he started a chain of events that got this 9-year-old fan cancer treatment (apparently Ronaldo's known for being vain and selfish so this is a huge step up) and the kid might make it now because of it!

I am also a huge football fan, and have followed Christiano Ronaldo's career since he turned pro at age 9 (yes, nine!). It is well-known that many footballer's do not play equally as well for club as they do for country, and vise-versa. Ronaldo is a perfect example of that statistic. Anyone looking at his stats from this year at Real Madrid would certainly not see any evidence of any falling, mighty or otherwise, but he has always struggled with his national team. Perhaps it is the pressure of being Captain and the entire world equating the success of the team with Ronaldo's personal performance, or pehaps it is simply that although he is not the only footballer on the field of play, the success or failure of the team is attributed solely to Ronaldo. But the simple truth of the matter is this: at Real Madrid there are may extraordinarily talented footballers, for the Portugal national team, Ronaldo is expected to carry them through, no matter what. Regardless of his performance on the field, he is, as the Europeans would say, "quite fit!"
