Fans of Cassandra Clare’s Clary, Jace, Will, Tessa, and Jem of the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices paranormal YA series will be thrilled to hear that, according to the Associated Press and Publishers Weekly, the author has inked a deal for a new three-book spinoff/sequel series about the Shadowhunters, this time set in Los Angeles.
Here’s a bit more about Clare’s upcoming “The Dark Artifices” trilogy, the first book of which is set for a 2015 release:
“The series follows Emma Carstairs, the fiercest warrior and most skilled young Shadowhunter since Jace Wayland, and Emma’s sworn partner in arms, Julian Blackthorn,” the statement reads. “Despite Emma’s complicated feelings for Julian, the two must band together to investigate a demonic plot that stretches from the warlock-run nightclubs of the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica.” (quoted by the AP from a statement from the publisher)
Excited to hear there’ll be more adventures in the Shadowhunter ’verse to look forward to after City of Lost Souls (May 8), Clockwork Princess (September 2013), and City of Heavenly Fire (September 2014) wrap up the other two series?
