Meljean Brook’s Riveted Has a Cover!

Riveted by Meljean BrookThe cover for the third book in steampunk romance author Meljean Brook’s Iron Seas series, Riveted, has been revealed.

Here’s the official description for Riveted, due out on September 4, 2012:

A century after a devastating volcanic eruption forced Iceland’s inhabitants to abandon its shores, the island has become enshrouded in legend. But the truth behind the legends is mechanical, not magical—and the mystery of the island a matter of life and death for a community of women who once spilled noble blood to secure their freedom.

Five years ago, Annika unwittingly endangered that secret, but her sister Källa took the blame and was exiled. Now Annika serves on an airship, searching for her sister and longing to return home. But that home is threatened when scientific expedition leader David Kentewess comes aboard, looking to expose Annika’s secrets. Then disaster strikes, leaving David and Annika stranded on a glacier and pursued by a madman, with their very survival depending on keeping the heat rising between them—and generating lots of steam…

Excited to meet David and Annika?

This sounds so good! I haven't read any of her books before.

Anyone else like this series? I think I need to pick it up.

I loved the first two in the series and am intrigued by this one's description. And I love the cover. Brook mentioned in her blog that David has mechanical parts and from the cover it looks like one of his hands and his eye. I wonder what other body parts are mechanical...?

I'm glad the US covers are more like the UK ones--IMO, those given to The Iron Duke and Heart of Steel were generic attempts at steampunk. This looks steampunk and romance!

Awesome cover! I love her series, but really I need to get TB or something other disease/injury that will lay me up for a time to get all this reading done! My BFF and I have joked before as to how we want to spend time in the TB ward to get all our reading done - but only if they're those nice looking "resort"-type convalescent places you see on Masterpiece Theater ;-)
