You’ve heard that grande American dame Shirley MacLaine is joining Downton Abbey Season 3 as Lady Grantham’s mother, and now the downstairs portion of the Abbey is getting some new staff:
Ed Speleers, who played the lead in Eragon, will play the footman Jimmy, while War Horse’s Matt Milne will be another footman named Alfred.
(By the way, every single picture of Milne has him smiling very widely, as he is in this photo. Apparently he’s just a really happy guy?)
Downton Abbey Season 3 will air in the United Kingdom in fall 2012, while it will return to the United States in January 2013.
We can’t wait and will, of course, keep tracking the production and news.
