Epic Showdown! Downton Abbey Meets American Football!

Downton Abbey

This Sunday, it’s...the Battle of the Century!

No, we’re not talking about the Superbowl, where the New York Giants meet the New England Patriots; a fine battle, but not one as earthshaking as this one.

It’s the Battle between the Superbowl and Downton Abbey—who will win the remote this Sunday?

Will it be young, muscular men in snug uniforms, or unspoken love between the classes?

Who will win the battle in your house?

Our family takes a third option - Puppy Bowl.

Still a Downton Abbey virgin until I can get my mitts on Season One.

Puppy Bowl is awesome, Anna! We usually DVR that and watch throughout the week, for bits of cute puppy fun.
For us, it's gonna be both, thanks to the DVR.

The fact that I have 2 tv's and a dvr will make everyone happy. I don't watch football but always root for the NY team to win from afar as I'm watching something else.

Multiple tvs hold the secret to peace in our house. Hubby loves him some football, kids watch puppy bowl and I get to watch something else if I want to. Most likely I'll be reading a good book.

Viewing a recording of a football game means giving up a lot. There is no good substitute for "live" tv sports. I have never had an invite to a DVR SB party. That being said, I'm amazed at how much value they squeeze out out highlights, recaps, and such. The SB is still appointment TV for me if there is a team I am following. As for DA, I prefer to schedule my time to view it. Iam the master of the house, not the other way around.

As I'm on the West Coast, the two did not conflict. But I didn't watch the Super Bowl. My husband did and the Puppy Bowl in between a bit, too.
