Every so often, Twitter and other social media explodes with news of Authors Behaving Badly: An author going overboard in reaction to a bad review, for example, or oddball TMI sharing, or some other wacked-out reaction that reflects on authors everywhere.
So it’s great when we can point to an author and talk about what a great thing they’ve done. In this case, it’s one of the most popular romance authors, Nora Roberts, and her Nora Roberts Foundation, which has given a $100,000 grant to McDaniel College “to help advance the research and study of romance literature.” McDaniel College offers an academic minor in romance fiction and its English professor, Pamela Regis, is a recognized expert on romantic fiction.
That is an Author Behaving Greatly, wouldn’t you say?
